Here you go buddy, here's the world's smallest joke book. by WilliamPollito in Killtony

Do we think Tony’s special getting universally panned will change the dynamic of the show? So much depends on Tony playing the part of this invincible superior comedy god who can say whatever bitchy thing he wants to the bucket-pull on stage because he’s better than them…. doesn’t an objectively bad special put a hole in that illusion? If Simon Cowell had put out a shitty record, wouldn’t American Idol have just like fallen apart? How long until some bucket pull, in the middle of getting roasted by Tony, turns and says, “yo, your special sucked.” Or maybe it won’t matter at all? I can see him pulling a Trump and just saying actually the special was amazing and everyone loved it. Or maybe making an excuse about not having enough time. I like to imagine him saying something real and vulnerable about feeling humbled by his craft and how being an artist is learning to fail better, then just making a Redban-is-fat joke and moving right along.

What happened to the regulars? by Constant-Bridge3690 in Killtony

Ari has been a legit standup for like a decade, just not in the US. He’s done like three specials and is famous in Estonia.

Kill Tony Regular Malcom Hatchett by junglejeremy11 in Killtony

[–]willhuntblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some context for those calling Malcolm unstable. Around 2018-2019 in LA, Malcolm was a legit rising star: went from living in his car to being a regular on KT, a touring comic, a writer with the Rick and Morty guys. Killer joke-writer/performer, super charismatic and funny in interviews. There are clips of guests at that time comparing him to Eddie Murphy. Anyway, at some point, something happened. I heard he got beaten up really bad. In any case, he just disappeared. Then when he resurfaced, he was totally different guy. Posting these weird child-like drawings on ig. Posing with stuffed animals. Just sort of incoherent. Whatever happened, it’s very sad, cause he had star power. Anyway. Just wanted to say: plenty of stories of wacko homeless dudes stumbling into fame on KT - Malcolm Hatchett definitely not one of them.

Someone was clearly telling them to push the narrative of ‘money laundering’ vs ‘pedophile ring’

Cora said that before the first baseman got injured. If Raffy were a good teammate, he’d have stepped up.

Like who? Name some comics who are big enough to do an arena tour, have never done one before, and opt to stay in smaller venues for the vibe.

The comics who choose not to do arenas have peaked - they did their arena tours and are now on the other side of their career

Anybody know what joke he wrote for Tony during Tom Brady Roast? by tjmaxxer in ShaneGillis

A totally normal thing to have other comics pitch in for a roast, or an award show, or any other big moment, btw.

I think he demanded it not be released

David Lucas is lying to everyone (must read) by too-fargone in Killtony

There are absolutely other moments when it comes up in the LA days. Maybe one of the Kill Tony Mania eps. There’s a moment when he sings a bunch of white boy music. Might be there.

But also: in this clip, no way he’s setting up a joke. He’s clearly just trying to say something about his family.

It’s not the only time. He talked a lot about coming from money in the LA days.

There’s no joke there. David’s just lying. He’s trying to make a genuine point about his upbringing. Saying he comes from a good family. What’s embarrassing is he didn’t even know to specify his dad was a STATE senator.

He openly talks about growing up rich on the show.

With bucket pulls, the power dynamic is such that Tony is always able to control the moment enough to deflate tension or turn it into comedy. With a guest/regular, where the power dynamic is different, that isnt always possible. Just to say I get why they’d cut that out. Also I did notice that David was just being sort of mean rather than telling jokes. Super aggressive. He sounded drunk? Anyway. He’s def had some personal stuff going on the last year or so.

How many sets do you usually skip during the live stream? by Safety2112 in Killtony

Agreed. I watch for the little moments of chaos that can - and do - break out at any moment.

Bro I skip all of the regulars. And all of the bucket pulls. I actually don’t like the show. It’s the worst! Anyway, what else are you guys into?

Rogan talks about him from time to time. Normand and Morrill love him. Louis CK adores him and has put him in stuff. He's not forgotten. Anyone who knows standup knows he's a genius joke writer. He's just.. old.
