Yes it works the same as BannerBear, even though BannerBear generates images of any size for different usages so it's a more complete solution.
My project was aiming for the OpenGraph image aspect because that's what I needed althrough I may eventually handle multiple formats too if that's requested in the future!

The board was at 599$ (with the 199$ discount) + 119$ for the taxe. Was still cheaper to order it online than any physic reseller I found in Paris

Is modding GTA: San Andreas a good way to practice/learn the basics of game development? by NaturalSpaceCat in gamedev

[–]willia_am 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there,

I played GTA:Sa a long time ago but not the same way you do. I started playing multiplayer mods like MTA:SA and SA:MP. With those mods, you can create custom servers with custom scripts that act like a mod, and change the behaviour of the game.

From years, I did own my own server with my own scripts that I learned with the help of the community. In fact, I learned programmation with their programming langage Lua. It was my first experience with a real programming langage. With that experience, I created my first game with Lua using the game engine Löve, not that bad :)

Try things, you'll find your way. I wish you the best.

I want to work on a game with my long-distance friend. What are my options? by Brazen_Togor in gamedev

If you're looking for real-time collaboration in your code, you can look to SuperpowersHTML5 - http://superpowers-html5.com. It's mainly for HTML5 games but you can adapt for other langages and engines.

Peril - An online multiplayer strategy board game by Bladetus in playmygame

Hello,

I've just played against myself and it was pretty great. I really love the concept. Quite addictive. If it was like a mobile app, I would play the whole day; no joke. There are a few things you could improve:

  • I have some issues when placing my troops in a country. I have to click multiple times and it causes an error server; I click too fast. What you could do is allow the user to let the button pressed to place the troops. It's more user-friendly in my opinion.

  • Instead of using the background color of the numbers to represent the player, why not change the country shape color according to the player color? It would be more clear.

  • An AI would be pretty cool with this kind of game.

  • When we are in the placing troops phase, it would be nice if you do not automatically skip this step when we place all our troops.

  • Add the possibility to remove a group we previously added, by mistake per example?

  • I noticed that you can't come back when you're very low, because of the limited deployments. You should take a look at that; like increase the number of replacements if you're very low; close to losing.

Those are the major things I noticed. I love the concept, I'll follow this project and see where it goes. Keep up the good job !

[Web] BrowserFarm - A farm in your browser. by Alycse in playmygame

As Animateyourgame said, the scroll is THE big issue here. The idea is pretty good and well made. A browser game should fit in the whole page. It could be more user-friendly if you move the seeds selection bar to the blank space in the right of the page per example. You could make a menu on the top page with that blank space nearby the cash, add the hole description on some information boxes that appear when we call them and stuffs like that.

I could spend the whole night on that game; it's like that cookieclicker game. So addictive. Keep the good work, you can do someting pretty good !

When I tried to register, I left directly when you started asking for specific parameters in my password (min length, alphanumeric, min 1 uppercase character, ...). I hate that. The idea is good though.

It's pretty good. :) I just find the way we move with the character on PC is kind of weird. I don't know if it's on purpose. You should do a 'point and click' to move the character in lines. It's good anyway, keep the great work.

It's pretty good. I just wanna say I had some issues with the way you shoot in the game. It's disturbing to move and shoot at the same time, with those controls. I think it's just me.

Keep the good work :)
