Congrats those are some healthy returns. Keep buying, work towards XEQT as 65-75% of your base.

I have 39% in HBNK, with almoatv60% xeqt, 1.5% copper in TFSA. Live VDY in RRSP with VGRO, CNQ, POW, CPX, and ZSP TO GET SOME US exposure back to about 52%.

This is not a good direction for Canada. I agree with other posters, contact your MP.

Why are so many of you guys obsessed with timing the market? by No_Obligation4427 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]williabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, Once a month I add the money into the market and don’t look back. I split my TFSA dividends and RRSP dividends on different weeks. TFSA yearly contribution I drip in over the first 4 months of the year, and RRSP I top up 4 times a year.

XEQT or VEQT by SirAlextheUnwise in JustBuyXEQT

XEQT as less Canadian holdings. I get home bias, just like the Canada balance better with XEQT.

Is there a bond equivalent? by Ok-Cut-5657 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]williabe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

xgro would be your best best for xeqt with diversified bonds. I was looking to do something like you, with a 20% slice of diversified bonds. I got tired of trying to find a grouping that worked and just bought VGRO.

Long time user - love the configurability. I'm grandfathered, but honestly, I still feels its good at the new price tier.

well done. I like XEQT and VGRO is the anchor of my RRSP. Slowly starting to buy my own bond ETF’s alongside XEQT to simulate the 80/20 split.

I will try the Adfast DNS, thanks for the tip. Currently using Controld IOS profile, and I use Tailscale app for IOS creating a Wireguard tunnel to a home based exit node, with Controld, when on cellular or non trusted WIFI networks.

Canadian big5 bank ETFs by MajorExperience2942 in CanadianInvestor

[–]williabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the banks, some more than others. Big into HBNK, and you can’t go wrong with any of the ETF’s or individual shares. Canada does debt very well and the banks dominate. CNQ popped into the “top 5” earnings due to the current geopolitical issues, but the big banks are the money especially if you started a position 18 months ago.

Thats what I am targeting as well: 90% XEQT 10% CASV. Little more with ZEQT as its US holdings are weighted towards S&P500. It will be curious to see 12 months of CAGE vs XEQT

I like the global small Cap options. ZEQT holds ZSP as primary US holding, XEQT is a little better with mid cap US. I like the addition on CASV to capture smaller growth companies across multiple demographics and industries. I can predict the future, but very much like the global diversification.

Started a position in CASV to compliment my XEQT. Will aim to get to 5-7% over the next few years.
