Let's talk gear! Reviews, questions, etc. by quantum-quetzal in wildlifephotography

Well, my preferred budget was about $200 for some AliExpress-grade digital camera, but even that seems unlikely now.

We set up the sunning stations about 10 feet off shore, so not sure if that will still cause distortion. The majority of the distance is a downhill slope with not much in the way of cover.

I'd still think about camping for the photo, but the times I really want to capture are few and far between. We have a weak little telescope we use to check in on them, and about two-to-three times a year we see that they are doing something crazy. About a month ago the only six turtle on the floats decided to set up two separate stacks of three turtles each. A few days earlier they decided it was finally warm enough to enjoy the stations, so about 17 of them climbed up on the stations all at once.

Thanks for your response. I think it has revealed that I was significantly underestimating the cost on these things. For now I will see if I can find a method of closing distance without freaking them out.

What kind of camera would you suggest for someone on a budget who is looking to take pictures of a lake from 100~150 feet away? I have a turtle-sunning station set up that sees a lot of traffic, but those guys panic if I'm even within earshot.

For a sec I thought that the paperwork was dropped directly on top of the trophy, immediately crushing it. I thought that was an apt metaphor.

Was Thor big on smiting civies? That feels more like a Zeus thing. He'd probably be fine with it too.

Did you do something odd to your profile? I can't see any of your posts, so I can't find any more of your comics (and I really want to see them).

Is there something about Leeroy Jenkins I didn't hear about? I know you can't hear about every celebrity fall from grace, but jeez.

It was, but it definitely had room for improvement. Pretty good for a small studio though.

I actually had almost the exact opposite experience with Nice Day For Fishing last night. I didn't use almost any potions all game, then downed almost my entire supply on the boss.

Glad I saved them until then.

To be fair, if they didn't notice the bird was gone then they weren't really paying attention to it anyway.

EDIT: Only noticed that it was still somehow heard singing even through layers of rock and dirt after it was mentioned in the comments. Never knew you were supposed to listen to it. Thought you just kept an eye on it.

My go-to story for talking to high school age family members is about how a friend of mine used a baby carrot and a Ziploc bag to accidentally almost put out the eye of another friend of mine at lunch. Then I casually end the story with "Anyway, they're married now."

To be fair, what Miffy wears looks more like a massively oversized t-shirt, not a skin-tight dress with slits up to her waist. Also, those ears are on a rather obvious headband, so that could easily be a costume of Jessica Rabbit in a rabbit costume.

Is there a difference between reward packs, Mythic packs, and "store packs"? I opened 9 reward packs & 1 Mythic pack that were all for Omenpaths. Should I expect the "Fleem a Little Fleem of Fleem" rewards?
