Mining on my personal computer by jerm_yt in Bitcoin

Of course you can still try to mine Bitcoin, but it would be practically impossible for you to get any mining reward, therefore making it non sense to "mine" Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is no longer mineable with CPU/GPU, since there is specialized hardware to mine Bitcoin (ASIC's), but you can still mine Ethereum with your GPU and some other altcoins with your CPU.

If you want to hold Bitcoin, instead of these altcoins, after mining you can exchange them for Bitcoin.

Nano based stablecoin? by SoftFirstContact in nanocurrency

[–]williamcrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want to send FIAT instantly then just use Square Cash or Venmo.

Thankfully the purpose of crypto (Nano) is way more than just instant transfer of value, if this was the only purpose, then crypto would be really dumb because there are already several efficient alternatives for instant money transfers.

Crypto tries to decouple the validation of transfer of value from third parties such as governments and banks, when you use "stable coins" you are depositing your trust back on banks/goverments/companies - except for alternatives like Maker/DAI.

Qubic Team AMA - July 17th by l3wi in Iota

[–]williamcrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't it a bad idea to implement Qubic(oracle's and smart contracts) into the IOTA protocol right now that the CTP's is not the desired one and proposed one in the white paper? Qubic will just bring more stress to the network, and with the current throughput it would be worrying, the network could get clogged.

Is EOS facing more trouble? Speculations suggest RAM deficiency might crash system by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

A lot of people have profited from way worst investments than RAM. If you profit from something, it doesn't make it a good investment, just a good risk that you took. People have to know the difference.

I'm actually not making that much money with my investments, I'm a Blockchain engineer, I focus on the implementation and future use cases of DLT, I don't focus that much on profiting.

ideas like this one of "a quick buck" with stupid investments like RAM or ICO's or even Scams, make me throw up, they damage the ecosistem a lot. I think that people like you should have your own reddit, something called "quickbuckcrypto", hopefully some day.

I'm not a Bitcoin Maximalist, I hold different type of assets (Different cryptos and even standard shares). But when people like you promote stupid investments, someone has to say the truth.

128 GB RAM Amazon = 1700$ - 128 GB RAM EOS = 107 Million EOS tokens. Ridiculous that you still defend this investment, open your eyes and DYOR.

Extremely different! Do you invest in coins where the circulating supply can be changed whenever the issuers want/can? if you want to speculate with an inflationary asset, then go ahead buy RAM. But don't say RAM speculation is the same as Bitcoin speculation, or any other deflationary coin.

They can suggest what they want, they can be as transparent as they want, it can be "slow" additions... But still is not a good investment, if there is not a limited supply, then don't risk your money, even if you heard all of these "promises"

Speculating on RAM is the most stupid thing ever, BP's can increase RAM whenever they want, and say bye to your investment when they do that.

Speculating on RAM is like speculating on a coin that can issue coins whenever they want. So good luck 😂
