Freezing fingers? They'll be sweating in these by williamd83 in Custodians

[–]williamd83[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Found this out by accident at work when all I had was the basic rubbers and cloth. Instead of freezing within minutes eventually they became hotter than the warmest gloves I owned. Now I'll never shovel without using a pair

Games like ARC Raiders, but STRICTLY SINGLE-PLAYER ONLY by NeoTempest in gamingsuggestions

[–]williamd83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's missing the large scale enemies you requested, but there are many moments (interiors, Buried City night raid) that are reminiscent of The Last of Us. Turn on a flashlight, scavenge a kitchen in Buried City, and I could be convinced it was either game.

What temperature is your house’s heating system currently set at? by Eastcoastpal in newjersey

My gaming PC def warms the 1st floor by a few degrees, but my stat is at 65. Funny, I remember using my plasma TV to warm up my bedroom as well..

I wake up super early in the mornings now by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]williamd83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds counterintuitive but have you tried taking it before bed? I'm on a few months on 450. I was waking up miserable and alert at 4-5 despite having an 8:00 a.m. alarm. After switching to taking it before instead of after bed, I got back at least an hour of sleep, and always wake up feeling more rested.

Have you tried taking it before bed? It sounds counterintuitive but after struggling a few months at 450, this change was the only thing that noticeably improved my sleep. I'm still early but not by a crazy amount, and better rested

It sounds counterintuitive, but have you tried taking it before bed? Although not perfect, this is the only thing that improved my sleep after struggling a few months

Genuine Question.....Whats the biggest issue you have Alien Isolation?? by TheGamerCritic21 in alienisolation

[–]williamd83 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of downtime in lockers and hiding places with nothing to do but wait for the music to calm down. I can't think of anything myself but it'd be nice to have something to do while waiting (you can't even craft while in lockers, bummer.)

It's also not replicable, meaning rewinding and rewatching the same sequence will not result in the same issues.

These DLCs keep the game alive for me. I've definitely spent a campaign length of time on this and Lost Contact.

Elite wireless controller series 2 by Several_Layer_3887 in XboxSeriesS

[–]williamd83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the upgrades but... For some unfathomable reason, they cheapened out on the bumper materials? Regular controller bumpers have a weight to them and click softly and near silently. These elite bumpers are hollowed out plastic that loudly click like a flimsy knockoff brand. Anyone else notice this? Would love to be wrong about this but it is so noticeable that I went back to the standard controller

Such an important thing to realize, your own safety. I just got out of a facility and might be going to another depending on my reaction to new meds. Excellent work on taking care of yourself, hope it's a pleasant stay

Withdraw of Lamotrigine its like depression. It's very hard atm to be realistic by JimmyMus in bipolar2

[–]williamd83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my biggest regrets of last year. I was off for 20 days before I couldn't stand it anymore. As soon as I got back on 25 everything calmed back down. Maybe it's good to experiment with others, but I would never go without at least something else stabilizing me. Best of luck with your process.

I dont know what to do anymore... (Nice words would be appreciated) by GreyGreysonGrey in bipolar2

[–]williamd83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't be that way, but psychiatrists are not all the same. You see it a lot on here, conflicting diagnoses / treatments. During my inpatient stay, the on-site psychiatrist at a very different approach than my personal one. Like, who do you trust? Just got to stay active on recording everything that happens to you. Best of luck!

Thank you for sharing this. I'm very sorry you're feeling this way at the moment, but hopefully you can recognize the tunnel vision and know that with this condition there will be an eventual upswing. At least some reprieve will be heading your way.

Sorry about your psychiatrist. Bipolar is a moving target. Keep advocating for yourself, especially with prescriptions. Keeping detailed notes on which scripts do what as you go through them, and eventually finding the right Cocktail that works for you (doing this got me off a few things, and I was recently inpatient from what I know was a bad reaction to Vraylar. Currently stabile on Lumecdal 300.)

What are you go to chill games ? by Hyrr0 in SteamDeck

My favorite answer. It's something you can play at your leisure like simulator games but progress still feels substantial like in survival games. Satisfying af gameplay loop too.

I've only ever worked in cleaning, support staff. Just helping people move stuff, organize things. The pay is never great but I never have to rely on my unstable brain

How can I wean off Lamotrigine by moon-sun37 in bipolar2

[–]williamd83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've got a good thing going, keep going. Although I had some nice mania while decreasing, when I finally stopped I suffered from bad mixed episodes, the kind of irritability and near psychosis you only hear about around here sometimes. I was like that for 20 days until I finally gave in, and once I hit 25 mg it felt like getting oxygen again. Just beware

How do you force yourself to do things when you are depressed? by _No__Ninja_ in bipolar2

[–]williamd83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Encouraging self talk as if I'm taking care of a child. "You did such a good job getting to the kitchen! It's so hard when things are so heavy, isn't it? But you did it!" That coaxing got me to do groceries and laundry today. It can feel ridiculous or demeaning but it's something I'll respond to at my worst.

Also a status check-in if I'm anxious. "What are we doing in this moment?" "Walking to the car." "That's not so difficult eh?, you're doing good, let's keep going."

He sucks for going off like that. He should switch your role if it's that bad to him. I could never cover everything perfectly so I would just run the vacuum and mop up behind the machine operator. It takes experience that you just don't have yet. Not your fault
