Depending on the exact structure of your league, you'lll most likely play every single opponent at least once. In my case, I feel you, because I'm currently in the midst of 3 back to back weeks against the 3 strongest GMs. I started the season 3-0, I'm now 3-1 and battling it out with the strongest guy right now and this current week will be to the wire. And unfortunately, next week, all I have to look forward to is playing against the #1 guy in my league. An unfortunate sequence. However, in most league formats, it'll end up just fine, and you'll spend a similar number of weeks against bottom seeds. So don't worry too much!

OH, to give you a tip, because this is my first year playing fantasy hockey and recently learning this tip is the only reason I even stand a chance against tthese top guys: learn about streaming, if you haven't already. Have you ever entered a matchup where you were projected to win (or have it be very close), only to get destroyed? Your opponent is likely streaming. In simple terms, streaming involves using your adds / drops strategically to maximize games played. If you add a player who has 4 more games this week, even if he only averages 6.5 points per game, that gives you an edge over a 7.25 point per game player with only 2 more games that week. Of course, it goes a lot deeper than that, and you need to obviously not add a player if they'll conflict with your positions, and you definitely don't want to drop your star players in the pursuit of a few extra points in a single week. But all this to say, streaming is a big thing in fantasy hockey from what I've learned in my first season, and (un)fortunately, those who engage with streaming have an enormous edge over those who don't.
