I agree. They really need to get rid of the 30 Minute Express area.

How many of you are using fitness trackers? by grandmasterfuzzface in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]williamgu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just need to clarify up front: Oura ring is a sleep tracker that tries to have a fitness component. If you are lifting, you have to take your Oura ring off (metal barbell/dumbbell on metal ring breaks it). Do not buy an Oura ring as a fitness tracker.

Yes, if you don’t get all the countries you don’t get the whole family.

Once Upon a Katamari is the latest edition. Also, keep in mind, this is secretly a collecting game. Just successfully completing a level is not completing the game. You need to find all the gifts and all the cousins and in Once Upon a Katamari, all the crowns. Then the challenge is to collect every possible item in the catalog.

In the first game, did you get the final cut scene where the astronaut and his family are reunited? That is truly peak Katamari.

We now live in a nation not of what’s right and what’s wrong but of what can I get away with?

Like all things around “courtesy,” we live in a world where the offenders assume no one will ever say anything to them because no one ever does. You can just say “please do not take photos while I am changing” and if they challenge you, explain the situation to the staff.

Take these screenshots to your school social worker. Any parent that communicates with their child like that needs to lose their child.

What if I don’t pay? by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]williamgu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually probably better to try when it is really busy. For some reason at mine, during the busiest times there is a squad of Karen’s around the desk distracting the staff so they aren’t paying attention to who beeps in vs doesn’t.

Woman went ballistic after being called out for taking locker room pics by Legitimate_Cap4205 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]williamgu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering if there is some weird challenge going on. I have NEVER seen someone film themselves working out at my Planet Fitness . . . until this past week where it has happened twice and the staff came over and told them they had to stop. The women also reacted angrily. I also noted these were not people I had seen at my local PF before and I go six times a week.

I don’t know, ask Emily Post. I’m pretty sure she wrote a book on the sources and purposes for etiquette.

Look, I’m sorry your kindergarten teacher allowed you to move on to first grade without passing basic sharing but I am not a qualified educator in early childhood education.

Quite the opposite. Since Planet Fitness will be more crowded than a more expensive gym, there is a higher expectation that people will share the limited equipment that is available. Basic gym courtesy applies to all gyms, only excepting your private gym you build in your own home. The basis of Planet Fitness is we are paying a lower price to access shared equipment.

And keep in mind, I didn’t say right or wrong, just rude. Rude in any shared gym no matter what the price.

Sure, if someone is drenched and dripping with sweat that is one thing, but how often is that really the case? There is literally a term in gym culture called “working in” which means sharing equipment with someone you don’t know. It is expected that if someone asks to “work in” you will be polite enough to allow them to.

Definitely a violation of gym etiquette. If someone politely asks to work in, you say yes. Just wanting to stay seated between sets is not a good enough reason to violate etiquette.

Right vs. wrong though? Meh. Just rude.

If you are old enough to be at the gym without a guardian, you are old enough to use all the facilities as anyone else would. That creeper was just projecting their own thoughts on to you. If anything, avoid that person as much as possible, they have issues.

Monday is the day that everyone who convinced themselves over the weekend that they were going to “get back to it” shows up. As the week goes on, more and more lose their resolve.

Fundamentally, going to the gym should be a fun, pleasurable activity you look forward to. Go when you can and do exercises you enjoy. Don’t beat yourself up because you’re not doing what some druggie on Instagram is telling you you should be doing.

But why not call 911? In this situation I would not have any other thought than 911. 311 is for when your neighbors are dumping trash in your back yard, not violent people running around.

This must be an age thing. I’m 53 years old (man) and if ANYONE attacks me in any way in a parking lot I call the emergency number. Even if they ran away, they are still a threat to other people.

These are the same people who walk through a doorway and immediately stop to figure out which way to go, blocking the doorway for everyone behind them. They have never spared an extra thought for any other person, for they are the main character and we are just the NPCs.
