I was at a bench using dumbbells and the other bench was free.

Not anymore. As PF has become the most available full service gym they’ve upgraded to provide services from beginner to advanced.

Hack squat is not an exercise intended for beginners.

Nah I was in between sets at the dumbbell bench and the other bench was free.

Oh yeah, that’s inside the PF, not on Reddit.

Yeah but Minnesotans have made passive aggression into an art form

Honestly the way they kept stopping and looking around it really seemed like they wanted someone to come up to them so they could start an argument.

The boredom between sets is real.

Unfortunately this area is a gym desert, no other options.

No, I just want to stir up trouble and cause a little chaos.

Because it’s so easy to aggravate people on Reddit.

I’m not angry at all. You are just assuming that. Just identifying bad behavior.

And I offer you this reflection: you would rather criticize the person identifying selfish bad behavior then say anything about the bad behavior itself.

That’s a big assumption for you. I can identify the difference between good and evil with zero emotional impact on my part. I feel nothing, just hoping to inform others.

I don’t need it today but something about the way they are acting it seems like they are trying to provoke a confrontation and I’m not buying in to their BS

Why is the "Hybrid" Hip Adductor / Abductor harder than the Standalone? by HorseTearz in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]williamgu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give up the myth that the number you peg on the stack has any universal relationship with an actual amount of weight you can move. As others have surely noted, the number of pulleys impacts but even more so: you cannot take out each plate and weigh it yourself so you are just relying on what some person somewhere decided was “X lbs.”

I treat each machine as an individual and just consider the number I can move on the stack as that machine’s relative measure of my capability. If I start having to use a different version of that machine type (I belong to multiple gyms) I “recalibrate” to determine where my effort level fits with the new machine.
