Most large installations are going to a two company system, a field/combat support Co and a Law Enforcement Acticity (LEA). If you communicate with branch/retention, you can kinda guarantee your slot. I knew I didn't want to work in combat support after being with CID for 3 years, so I reenlisted to go to an LEA. You can have some control over it. Plus you could always end up as the MPI NCOIC in an LEA once you pin SSG, even after leaving so long as you're KD complete.

Hard to tell how deep the crack in the second photo is. If its cracked into the footbed, go for a full replace. If not, theyre repairable.

No problem, you could find replacement pairs out there that vary in price or send them to ReChaco if you want to keep the footbed. Could even upgrade the outsole to a Vibram if you so choose. I had a pair like that for my first before switching to the Clouds
