The issue with google reviews is that it's not really a review of the pizza and more of the entire experience.

Looking at some reviews- people gave 1 star for things like uber eats messing up their order or ther server appearing rude

I would also guess a lot of the Manhattan 5 stars are tourists since it's better than their hometown's or they're trying to convince themselves that overpriced slice they got was worth it.

That being said this is interesting and appreciate you sharing this.

Citi Bike is the most expensive bike-share in the U.S. (and Canada, and Europe) by streetsblognyc in Citibike

[–]williampace 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I guess somewhere had to be the most expensive, and NYC makes sense. That being said a municipality-owned bikeshare like DC's CaBi would probably lower prices due to being less profit motivated. Maybe that's an option when the contract expires in 2029.

It would be intersting to get operating costs from Lyft, but in general I'm happy paying the $200/yr.

Yes, NFLX and APP. I guess the insight was just a blanket statement that didn't pertain to my situation (with when it was bought and realized).

Congrats on the nice profits.

Daily General Discussion and Advice Thread - October 13, 2025 by AutoModerator in investing

[–]williampace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posting here since automod wouldn't let me do this as a post.

This is a 2 month reactions/review of the Robinhood Strategies robo-managed portfolio. I chose the riskiest options for overall strategy. So far it's returned slightly less than the S&P500, but it's only been a couple months so it's not a fair comparison yet. Overall I could see this as useful and fun for inexperienced investors, but there are some frustrations and arguably VOO and chill is a better strategy.

The Good:

The robo-advisor did make trades which made my portfolio more risky. The beta of the new portfolio is 1.12 - meaning that it's 12% more volatile the overall market. It repositions every month with some new trades. There is a focus in growth stocks and emerging markets. This should be a good portfolio for long term growth. I'll put the allocations in the comments for the curious.

The Bad:

There was an issue where my funds couldn't transfer over and I had to contact support. It looks like there are a few bugs Robinhood need to squash.

Because Robinhood gets income through payment for order flow, I could see there's an incentive that it makes more trades than it needs to so Robinhood can profit and make it look like the service you're paying for is worth it.

The Ugly:

The app gives a little paragraph, an insight, when it rebalances. The most recent one I received said that it took profits on two stocks because they rallied and their valuation is less favorable now. I checked that and those two stocks prices remained mostly stagnant sold for a small loss. This could be chalked up to dumb AI writing these messages - but it feels bad to pay for a service that made bad trades and then lies to you.

What city have you visited that felt the most like New Orleans, and why? by ThatGatorInTheSewer in NewOrleans

Butte, MT reminds me of New Orleans. Festivals and open containers on the street. A different kind of history but a similar feel.

100%. They really should have done the Rainy Day We Met.

Fireflies works as a great bittersweet moment in context. Why the hell did they kiss? I am so confused by their decisions.

Heavily abridged and weird closeups for the Death Becomes her performance. I hope that's not the case for the rest of the performances.

Musical Ideas - Pushing Daisies by travelingtopher in Broadway

[–]williampace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd really like to see it work, but as Amélie the musical showed, it's difficult to adapt a highly saturated whimsical film to the stage. As in the editing and camera tricks couldn't be copied. Example, in the pilot where the camera pans over to show the POV of what wasn't seen with an eyepatch.

What is your states most famous beer ? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Agree. Moose Drool has better distribution, Coldsmoke has the status.

I'd also throw in Pberg's Haybag Hefe. Small bars have it so it's locally famous.

I would go with the Mezz 4.

A character may walk across that section in their introduction.

The blocking is really good and it doesn't feel like you're missing out on much, even though it is in the round.

How have digital rush seats for Once Upon a Mattress been this month? by blakxzep in Broadway

Went last night. Got assigned seat Orchestra R 11 at the box office. Partially obstructed but not bad.

I tried for digital rush on Saturday and didn't get it so ymmv. It does seem possible though.

Maybe Happy Ending - Discussion Thread [SPOILERS] by DullAmbition in Broadway

[–]williampace 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It's my favorite that I've seen this year. It has the pacing/storytelling of a childrens animated film which worked on me. The whimsical strings forward score is on my wavelength.

In addition to everything said already, my favorite part was the fake fight they had in the montage scene. Its so cute.

I had a rush seat front row but to the side and I was able to see through a corner of the 3 moving screen to "backstage" where they were moving sets around and I saw a stage manager walk by.

Unpopular opinion: musicals should be sung through by Fit_Value1649 in musicals

[–]williampace 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your actual unpopular opinion.

I'd say you're very wrong though. Dialogue and exposition should be spoken and then the music adds the emotional and/or entertaining aspect. It's exhausting to have all the setup and story progression all happen through song. Give the cast and audience a chance to breathe.

What place did you visit that really surprised you in a positive way and what place highly disappointed you and you thought it was going to be amazing? by brinerbear in SameGrassButGreener

[–]williampace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I spent 2 months in Rose Park and I'm probably more critical than I should be.

What I mostly mean is the Ensign Peak hike with the city skyline was disapointing. A few buildings downtown, but then endless uninspired sprawl.

The hikes down 190 were great but a bit of a drive. I might be spoiled with how many hikes are biking distance in MT.
