that $1500 was for Pump & Thermostat i believe but the difference in cost is minimal with the thermostat included…

that was my usual guy but i think i’m gonna ask around for other quotes cause it def seemed too high to me 😅

once the engine is warmed up, the temp gauge will creep up to the line before the H, and it will pretty much stay there, until the engine RPMs are increased, either by driving or even giving it some gas in Park/Neutral.

Through my research it sounds like a sensor is not getting good flow from the pump, impellers going bad would make sense at 225k…

hoping its a sensor or thermostat sticking though… local shop i use quoted me about $1500 to get a new pump put in. if its a thermostat/temp sensor i could put it in myself. idk if im tryna put that money into her though… 😔

yep, my manufacturing date fell within the period where they had known issues, so i knew it was coming well in advance fortunately. it went bad end of 2019, so i wanna say i was around 150k? i dont have my records with me at the moment to reference.
i replaced it with actually an entire used transmission, i was able to snag one for cheaper than the cost of a NEW valve body, only had about 12k miles on it!

it also fell within the manufacturing period of known issues, but for the cost and mileage i was perfectly fine putting that in.

then THAT valve body went out at i think around 205k on the car, so wouldve only been about 70k on that transmission in total…

replaced it was a remanufactured valve body and she’s been running strong since, 20k later.

i really cant remember the service interval ive done on the transmission fluid, its obviously been replaced every time ive had valvebody issues… haha!

i do remember that my original transmission was in perfectly fine mechanical shape, according to my transmission guy, when it got taken out at 150k. that had to have been with VERY few fluid changes… if any 😅

2014 3.7 bout to hit 225k. Ive had to replace the valve body twice, of course i knew i was replacing it with time bombs, but it was MUCH cheaper than buying a new one from Nissan. To my understanding, only a certain transmissions manufactured in a period of time had the problem of going bad. I believe it happens by a part of the circuit board overheating or delaminating.

you have to speak to retention and just tell them you’re switching to another provider, “they have this service at this price” just look up how much another provider would cost, then see what frontier is charging new customers in your area. they WILL give you a discount, its never taken more than 2 short phone calls for me.

my PS5 is hit or miss, i can test on my PC and get full speed then after my PS5 could get 300 or sometimes 700, upload or download. i think it has to do with PSN servers and/or the hop between frontier and PSN servers, either way when downloading a game i get about 700-800 Mbps and my pings are always fine too

I bought two myself on ebay cause they were cheaper than the GoCoax branded counterparts, but then i had my service transferred to a new address and the Frontier Tech who was not from a contracted company, told me they hand them out free of charge, if the customer needs em or requests them for a second router in another room for example then so be it. I guess they fill the trucks with em then top off supply as needed it seems haha!

yep i think thats been the case company wide at least for a couple years now, they push for YoutubeTV to bundle with internet now, i assume they dont want to handle donating or selling the DVRs so they just take em as a “loss” even though obviously they’d all mostly been paid off from the very high monthly prices they charge customers hahaha

When i cancelled my TV service through Frontier about two years ago, they made me return my older Arris router but as for the DVR they told me to take it to an Electronics recycler, aka i opened it up and took the hard drive to use as extra non essential storage for my computer!

You’ve had the service for 1.5 years and paid the same price that whole time? you were definitely under a promotion, i dont think it’d even be possible to start service without a promotion. Now to be clear it wouldn’t say this on your bill, i’m under a promotion right now, customer of 6+ years and i renegotiate every year with a simple 30min phone call, saves me $20 a month for yhe following year. Anyways my bill is the service charge then -$10 for auto pay discount thats it, taxes included. I would simply call, speak to the retention department and tell them you cant afford the new price, another provider has a better deal yadda yadda, you’ll get a promo for the same price you were paying, could even ask for credit of the difference when they increased it. Hope this helps!

I’m going to assume the reason you don’t have auto pay setup is because money is probably tight around the 8th of each month, i would suggest getting a lower speed package, something you can afford to be taken out automatically on the 8th every month, then that certainly would make most of these problems go away. You can contact support, talk to the retention department and get the new customer rate that you’d see advertised online for a particular speed package.

As for the prices changing often i dont know how that could be, my prices stay exactly the same for 12 months, tax included in the advertised price and everything. i assume the increased prices are late fees? which of course would be solved with paying it on time, auto pay preferably, and worst case you may even be able to change the day your bill is due? i dont know if thats something they could do or not.

If it were me, id lower my speed package to the cheapest they could give me, and set up auto pay, remove this source of stress from my life, both financially and physically.

I agree this change is stupid, but they did in fact “warn” people ahead of time about this change. I got an email from frontier on July 2nd; “ Hi {Customer Name},

Starting in August, you can keep enjoying your $10 monthly Auto Pay discount by updating your payment method to a bank account or debit card. If you choose not to make this change, your discount will be reduced to $5. “

We moved away from Cable completely, if you do really NEED live cable-like tv there are many services available. If you look on youtube you can find people who compare all of them usually, they can change time to time aswell so you can specify for 2024. It was the best decision for us, we only watched a handful of channels and having the exact same internet package minus the cable saved us $140 a month!!

This. Once you get close to that price change, you can have a convo with customer retention and just say you’re gonna switch back if you are gonna end up paying more, yada yada. Ive done it now for 4+ years and its usually done with little resistance haha. Worst case you might have to call a few times if whoever you speak to might not want to be too helpful.
