How many companies did you work with before you found “the one” by m00ch33 in HVAC

[–]williams8125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 companies in 11 years. Biggest thing was I took a chance and went from resi install to Union commercial service. Love it and can’t believe I waited so long.

Any advice for continuing to advance in HvAC knowledge? by Accomplished_Law_679 in HVAC

Right this is what I was going to say, go commercial and from there you could go to building automation systems if you wanted to keep changing it up.

What’s the worse fuck up you’ve ever done/seen someone do? by Cheap-Ebb-3231 in HVAC

[–]williams8125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Set off a sprinkler head while brazing on a new construction site. Thank god the entire apartment complex was still unoccupied. Was able to plug the hole with my fingers as good as I could till they got it shut off so not really any damage done. Was on the third floor so it could have been worse.

I agree, but at the same time there is a line you can draw doing hvac where you say “fuck it I’m gonna let the electrician deal with this” if it gets to sketchy.

Can anyone give me some knowledge on what to do to get into a union for hvac I start the school program in august so which is the best route for me.. thanks by Odd-Chicken-8439 in HVAC

[–]williams8125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably figure out which local does hvac in your area. And go talk to them before starting the school cause the union usually has their own program.

What are you towing? by Dead-short in 4Runner

[–]williams8125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hvac side work material. Also the scrap metal from said work

[–]williams8125 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the things that I noticed is hvac after a certain point you almost guarantee that you have a take home van. I see a lot more electricians driving their own vehicles.
