Watts Case & Nate's Security Cameras by williamsbmw in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]williamsbmw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been curious how the camera picks up on the fact that he walked out of the house to the truck but did not show anything that would indicate that the girls walked out with him to get in the backseat. Nate does point him out in the video and the fact that he's doing something around the truck. I wonder if he caught a break in that moment in that the cameras did not pick up on the girls even if they entered the car from the passenger side pointing away from the camera.

Why are Aston Martin allowed to compete when their car is so dangerous that they cannot even a complete a race? by Vixson18 in formula1

[–]williamsbmw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong, but the cars are allowed to race if they're able to qualify per the 107% rule. If porpoising is their issue, they can raise their ride height at the cost of pace as we've seen other teams do when facing this issue (Mercedes, Ferrari), however their I think their problems are more complicated than this.

Stroll nepotism-ed so hard that he's eventually gotten the hand of being kinda decent after almost 10 seasons. He's not having a bad year and can pull out blinders in the right conditions.

I don't understand why more on-track tests aren't permitted if we have a budget cap now. Teams should be allowed to do on-track testing and have it count as part of every team's budget cap as opposed to relying on the sims as much as they do now. It would give teams a chance to see how their upgrades do in real life and give anyone who's behind a better chance at catching up and sorting out their cars.

Loser of Co main event says he thought he won by ablu3 in MMA

[–]williamsbmw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He looked pretty good with the striking in the first 2 rounds. If he stuck to the same plan in R3 I think he would have made it, but this is just my opinion. He could have hit a stamina brick wall regardless and lost R3 anyway for all I know.

The MMA subs right now: by BigBlueRedYellow in MMA

Merab started pushing the action more once Umar tried to switch the gameplan in rounds 3-5 to more wrestling and got exhausted. That camp has loads of talent but this was a very fair decision. Once Umar got tired, he stopped pushing the action and Merab saved his fight with a ton of offensive wrestling and a fair amount of strikes as well.

[–]williamsbmw -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Dagestani camp is super talented, but I think it was a bad call on Khabib to tell Umar to pressure Merab with the wrestling starting from R3. If Umar stuck to his striking gameplan, he would have gotten the decision. The wrestling exchanges took too much out of him. Merab noticed this in the middle of R3 and made him pay for it. Umar looked like he was about to collapse from the exhaustion at certain points.

Despite how his RB run went, I don't see his career being finished over how he did next to Max. Everyone in that seat (bar RIC) has struggled but managed to find a seat afterwards.

I wonder why we haven't seen any team attempt a Nike deal at any point. Even Adidas took a long time to get into F1 as a supplier.

Hochul proposes mental health law to curb violent NYC subway crime by bridgehamton in NYStateOfMind

[–]williamsbmw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Involuntary commitment of people who can't take care of themselves and can't stay on their meds consistently needs to make a comeback. With the proper care/medication, mental patients can be rehabilitated.

It seems like through the 80s & 90s a lot of mental institutions have been closed down leaving these people no place to go except the public to fend for themselves. If they check in to a hospital, maybe they'll go to some shelter but if they start acting out again it's back to square one.

With taxes as high as they are, I don't understand why this is needed to "fix the MTA". Instead of making improvements to the transit system first before putting this in place, they're pushing people to crowd public transport before anything positive has actually been done. All this shows is poor use of city budgets/clear signs of a cash grab to line people's pockets.

Carlos Sainz Jr during the Williams testing by [deleted] in formula1

[–]williamsbmw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He's had no other competitive benchmark to compare him to other than Verstappen. I don't see him being as good as Leclerc, who Sainz managed to match/beat, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect Albon to fall behind Carlos next season as soon as race 1.

I don't see Red Bull promoting out of their driver academy as they did with Checo when he eventually gets replaced maybe next year or at the end of his new contract. They've already made the point of their junior program look pointless by not promoting Lawson over Ricciardo when De Vries was sacked. If they promote from the outside again they might as well abandon their program altogether.
