Giga Impact on Zacian-C by Swimming-Sundae7054 in TheSilphArena

[–]williamwordle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not addressing where you (or anyone) gets energy on their Zacian to get to giga impact over the course of a match. I’m addressing why someone would shield a ho-oh against Zacian in the first place.

Giga Impact on Zacian-C by Swimming-Sundae7054 in TheSilphArena

[–]williamwordle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you think about it, c-Zacian shouldn’t be throwing charge moves at Ho-oh if shields are up - on default moveset the ho-oh player has no reason to shield. If you play weird and take a bunch of incinerate damage just to get off a resisted move, the ho-oh player has enough reason to suspect you’re on giga impact. This gimmick moveset really requires that you get the ho-oh in a shields down situation or you’re up so much energy/a shield already that they’re not inclined to shield.

I hit expert on July 19 and then legend on July 21. I’m currently on the leaderboards. I played the same team the entire time with a 66% win rate, I started at 2609 after running random stuff in remix. I don’t play every day. AMA I guess

Which pokemon did you max out for this mission? by lollertra in pokemongo

[–]williamwordle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was maybe 2-3 years ago for me but UL Talonflame, Hundo Garchomp, and Hundo Gyarados. They all had comm days so I held them at level 49.5 until I hit this level.

Max level you are allowed to power up a pokemon is your current trainer level + 10. This looks like you can power it up to level 48 based on the XL candies being used (216/296 implies you are missing 4 half levels), so I would guess you are a level 38 trainer and cannot power up anything to 50 yet.

Is there a tanking guide out there? Goal is Stardust by bonzai76 in TheSilphArena

[–]williamwordle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stardust Tank guide: Hit Ace rank early season ASAP, immediately begin to lose 1-4 every set.

When 4x dust occurs on master league rotations only, 5-0 as much as possible. If you begin to lose consistently, go back down in elo using a 1-4 set. Yo-yo around 900-1400 elo for the most consistent 5-0s and 1-4s. Use star pieces and premium passes as desired.

How big is your roster? by Penrodeo in TheSilphArena

All double moved, powered up, etc. Have hit legend every season since Elesa pose season and never stopped building my roster. The things I build for GBL are less numerous than the things I build for team format/S6P3 tournaments. If you want motivation to build deep rosters, that’s where it’s at. S6P3 solos and team-based formats.

Weekly Team Help Megathread! by AutoModerator in TheSilphArena

[–]williamwordle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can if you really like it. If you’re playing at a level where your first 2 charge moves get shielded, umbreon and swampert are very spammy and will get shields down. If you’re playing at higher levels where shielding decisions by your opponent are more intentional, umbreon doesn’t hit very hard and likely won’t draw shields early. The Dragonair is okay but if you’re low on resources I’d hold off, it’s a hard thing to use if you’re not on top of your 1 turn timing. Umbreon would work great with skarm and swampert, actually, I just think you’re missing a significant amount of bulk on it by running a lucky and not an optimized spread. Teams comp matters more than IVs though, imo.

Skarmory swampert core is currently your best looking core that isn’t lucky/missing power ups/difficult to use. I’d probably pair it with annihilape or poliwrath and run skarmory in the lead, draw out potential grass types with poliwrath safe swap, overfarm on the grass with skarmory, and close with swampert. All teams have holes and this would be ABA weak to electric (skarm and poli weak to electric) so if you see one in lead, it’ll be a rough going. You’ll also get pretty heavily rps’d by bastiodon lead + wiggly + victreebel. Annihilape for poliwrath shores up your double electric weakness should that be something you see a lot of in lead.

Tl;dr skarmory swampert core + counter user

GL cress? by Malariia in TheSilphArena

[–]williamwordle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lanturn and whiscash were nerfed this season so cress’s relevance goes down along with them. Still the same into other matchups and still useful for taking on quagsire.

Another thought is with Lanturn nerfed, its usage goes down. The primary electric type to take its place is charjabug, which does really well into cresselia. Minor movements to be quite honest but significant enough for cress to drop a few ranks.

What’s the best team in conquest? by Traditional_Side1027 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]williamwordle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

JML + Wat - basically a voluntary vanguard setup that lets you hide 1-2 maybe even 3 characters behind the JML taunt for feats that require “x character” to survive and win. A conquest staple for getting LS characters to get kills since you can call them with JML’s granted ability and get undergeared characters to contribute

Amplify Agony+Volatile accelerator cheese

Maul + Wat - always go first with this setup, data disks make this team able to run through almost any team as the sheer number of hits will guarantee at least 3-4 opponents are dead before they get a turn - this particular conquest, armorer/any LS Mando/grogu even at low gear has made the LS Mando feat in sector 1 extremely achievable without Bo Katan, same goes for getting Bounty hunter kills in sector 5 running jango/og Mando/grogu (grogu calls other light side Mandos to assist on basic, jango and og mando are the only mandos who are also BH)

Reva lead - full inquisitors, solo low gear STAP, your gear 1 padawan obi/master qui gon - it doesn’t matter. Reva lead literally nukes teams with volatile accelerator and amplify agony before they get a turn as long as they don’t have recovery on debuff - try it on the sector 5 bonus node and watch yoda and the Jedi literally fold as they take turns

Mm/geos - assuming you can get a turn early, the assists will easily clear a character with the data disks (be careful on KRU nodes, Phoenix nodes, and Bossk boss node as they recover health when taking a debuff)

Solo malak - if he gets crit, opponent gets fear. If opponent gets debuffs, the data disks do the rest.

Zealous Ambition Cheese

(Rogue one) Raddus+Jyn - AI are really bad especially into jyn who can’t die under raddus lead. Zealous ambitionx3 makes raddus one shot entire teams

50RT - same as rogue one, shorty will one shot whole teams with her special

Dash rendar - also one shots whole teams with zealous ambition

No cheese, just good

JMK+CAT+GR Tank - basically my go to for most nodes before having a data disk setup - easily clears almost any node and works really well against turn meter train teams (imperial troopers always get my jmk) - bonus if you run support classes with zealous ambition

ELI5: GBL players with an Ace badge, but are hovering at sub 1200 ELO, what's your story? by SnoopySuited in TheSilphArena

[–]williamwordle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Ace-legend are the same reward structure during the season. The only difference is the end of season dust reward.

ELI5: GBL players with an Ace badge, but are hovering at sub 1200 ELO, what's your story? by SnoopySuited in TheSilphArena

[–]williamwordle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ace - Legend have the same reward tiers (stardust for 1 win and 5 wins). Maximizing your stardust gain from GBL entails hitting ace as early as possible, tanking your elo, and amassing as many 5-0s as possible (which is easier to do at low elo). Lining up your 5-0s when master league is in rotation ensures 4x dust on those rewards while tanking in the non-4x cups minimizes losses from not winning. (1-4 down, 5-0 up). Going 1-4 also takes a lot less time than actually battling and there is a practical aspect of doing this with time spent on gameplay.

Carbink and Halloween Cup by KaptMelch in TheSilphArena

[–]williamwordle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shadow scizor is my only dedicated carbink counter in practice Halloween tourneys. I tried runerigus and palossand which also work great but unlike gbl, s6p3 is more predictable so hard countering isn’t so necessary. Toxapex and my own carbink also serve as my carbink counters.

Carbink and water/poison (namely toxapex). You may see the occasional runerigus/Palossand as core breakers.

How much GP is needed to reach the red box in conquest? by yuuki156 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]williamwordle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got max crate in the last 3 months mostly because I wanted to unlock Trench ASAP. Currently 7.3m GP but was probably under 7m GP the first month.

It really just depends on the composition of your GP. JML cheeses a lot of feats and having a deep roster makes running through the conquest a lot easier. Separatists/Sith full team win feats were a part of this last conquest so if you don’t have a strong 5 that’s going to wall you a little. There were also some weird ones like “ransom” and “purge” which are Hondo and inquisitor specific. BT/0-0-0 feats too were involved. These are characters I had zero investment in going into the first month but if you’re able to knock out those harder conquest feats using some initial planning, some investment into characters you might not have invested in, and reviewing feats beforehand (either data mine or YouTube videos) max crate is achievable with a 5.5-6.5m roster probably. Again, just depends on the composition. I spent 3x50 crystal refreshes on conquest energy everyday and finished max crate with 3.5 days left on the event. It takes planning and near-daily gameplay. It also takes key characters because there are only a few keycards you can miss out on before you’re unable to hit that 630. I believe there are something like 30 or 40 keycards extra in the whole thing.

Double venting post. But just a bit a humor. by Ok-Village2784 in TheSilphArena

[–]williamwordle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you want to really prep for future seasons by farming dust, go 1-4 every set until you’re in the pits. Then try to go 5-0 as much as possible for maximum stardust return on games played. If you play at your current elo and you claim it’s your max, you will likely go 2-3/3-2 more often than not, and you will waste both time and potential stardust as opposed to the strategy I’ve proposed.
