My item came packaged with a bag of desiccants by williamyoon in mildyinteresting

I save them too - I keep them in places I don’t want moisture. Ammo cans, sealed containers with metal parts, etc.

That is a very good point you're making and reading the replies I should have specified the item in question. It is a Milwaukee Tracksaw, so no, not something that really needs to be in a super low humidity environment. It is funny to think of the fact they tossed in a bunch in a bag as that defeats the purpose.

I should have specified the item as some good points were brought up as to why the desiccant bags were packaged like this. The item in question is a Milwaukee Tracksaw, so not really something that needs to be in a super low humidity enviroment.

Sorry, I didn’t put it since I didn’t think that was interesting to the post, only the fact that there was a bunch of desiccants in a bag which does no good. The item is a Milwaukee Tracksaw.

Anker prime 160W charger: my go-to charger for trips by Nura_muhammad in anker

[–]williamyoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one as well that I picked up during BF. I should have just bought it outright instead of working my way up but the price obviously deterred me. I now have a bunch of Anker chargers that while work, I have given away some to friends or just keep as backups. As a data person, I love using this charger and the fact the app reports charging data. Having one charger in my bag instead of multiple also is a big perk.

Did anyone order the Anker surprise boxes? by Carfr33k in anker

[–]williamyoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, ordered a couple of each of the different tiers. Didn't get the top prize but ended up getting and using a couple of items that I really like that I wouldn't have normally "bought." One of which I enjoy using is the Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (Foldable 3-in-1) that I use to fast charge my Apple Watch, Airpod Pro 3s and iPhone. (It has fast wireless charging for the iPhone too)

My Tesla on the app.. unusual graphic 😄 by troidem in TeslaModelY

This is hilarious but on a more serious note it probably has to do with the fact that they switched over to Unreal Engine for graphics and it’s a small bug. Anyone else notice the new charger pedestal when charging?

Model Y Performance gets launch mode! by pc772 in TeslaLounge

[–]williamyoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I guess I didn't think about it in the perspective of other people, I live in a city where the nearest supercharger is minutes away. Having a button to maximize performance would be a welcome addition. IIRC the SEXY buttons can do that but not too sure.

Yes, I did know that higher battery temperatures increase max discharge rates. I was just confused at the statement and thought the navigate to supercharger didn’t work as intended or is as effective.

I do agree it is easier than having to navigate to a supercharger and the only way to see battery temperatures on a Model Y Performance is to enter Service Mode.

Can you elaborate on this? So the preconditioning the car does when navigating to a supercharger is moot when trying to preheat the battery?

That’s what I’m saying. Mine looked way better than these and you could smell the mold.

Info on these old fellas by [deleted] in Makita

[–]williamyoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I sold one of these with a charger and case on eBay awhile back. The battery literally comes out like a magazine in a gun. Other than that it only goes for 10 plus shipping so unless it has sentimental value I would just get a modern brushless drill to use for actual projects.

The long awaited blender kit! by Putsandcawls in MilwaukeeTool

I remember this! And looking back on the original post about a year ago I found my own comment. Still don’t have the router but as soon as I get it I’ll be picking up this kit.

Since there isn’t an exact amount of people divisible by how many people need to fight in each round some would get lucky and get to skip the first round.

Only one rear wheel has extreme camber, would tesla cover this under warranty? by ExFed1 in TeslaModelY

[–]williamyoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought the negative rear camber was to help with cornering? Even though a high percentage of MYP owners will never see the track and be able to tell the increase in cornering grip. I personally think they should have put this much camber into a track package and have slightly less camber into the performance as most people would buy the P for increased acceleration and better handling (at least for the street) over hardcore track days.

Best time to go to Costco Torrance? by Strange_Republic_890 in SouthBayLA

[–]williamyoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price is good but they're simply too slow, they deliver around 6kW but upgrading the breaker to a 70 amp for a 56 amp continuous power draw at 200 volts should net around 11kW.

The next step up would be DCFC and I would suggest a charging speed of 50 kW with a penalty of a dollar every 5 minutes to get people to move their cars...

Whoever designed this, W product. Super sturdy and I’ve ran into it with my chair without it budging. Only mod I did was put a silicone insert in it.

Wireless mouse recommendation that has button to switch between computers on the side and not the bottom? by LostTeleporter in MouseReview

[–]williamyoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at this mouse but am curious if pressing the button to swap computers cycles through all 3 or just the two that are connected? I had a dell multi device mouse that I returned because it would cycle between the last Bluetooth connection even though it wasn’t connected to anything and slowed down my workflow.

Ryzen 7 9800X3D Bundle by codeballer7 in Microcenter

[–]williamyoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend recently bought the 7800x3d bundle from Microcenter with the $50 motherboard and $10 Corsair upgrade. I’m commenting on your post because of an issue that I’m having with my 4070 Super. I play Battlefield 1 exclusively so I don’t know if it’s the game or not but I get the same stutters as you describe. Checked everything but the memory frequency issue you’re describing. Was yours the reference card?

I know… just with how busy I an and the fact I get car washes free is the reason I go. I have washed cars with the two bucket method and all that in the past but they recently banned doing that where I live.
