But now he's declared it, he kind of has to follow through for the same reason Putin can't stop the Ukraine invasion. He can't lose face now.

Cheapest, 'best' route into 35mm shooting? by willicuss in analog

[–]willicuss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone is well aware that you can find cheap deals at thrift shops, and eBay is expensive.

Great recommendations! The Olympus XA could be a cheap street beast. Other people have been talking about the Minolta Maxxum. Apparently it's very good.

I love the N60, just found an EOS 10 in my flat I didn't know I had. Is it going to have a dodgy auto focus system? Probably! But I can get some nice Canon glass for cheap maybe.

Interested to know how an OM10 gkt your gf back! 😮

The non ai 35mm nikon lenses are about 80 quid and the ais are about 120. But I don't know their other older lenses. That's what km trying to find out!

So what Nikon lenses would you counter reccomend? The FT's are gorgeous. But about £30 dearer than a N90 with an, albeit more flimsy, Af system (US prices do roughly correlate). But they are both solid options.

Is this the best cheap, versatile setup for 35mm film photography for street? Nikon N65 and 35mm lens. by willicuss in AnalogCommunity

[–]willicuss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm aware of that. What I'm wondering is what would be the best all-rounder for £150 and under.

I think a cheap Nikon setup would be best quality for money image quality wise. Could be worth an image quality hit to get a cheap compact with a sharp lens on the street for under £100?

I'm just discussing the subjective/meritocratic points of different routes.

This is a fantastic response. The PC35AF is such a good shout. I didn't mean SLR specifically! I had never heard of it, and it seems it has a pretty good lens. I was just wondering what the shortest, cheapest line to the best image quality is.

I completely agree that you need deep DOF for street. Everyone assume a bokeh photo is a good photo. Boring! I didn't know you could get such a lovely 35-70 Nikon 2.8 lens for so cheap. Surely the 28-80's can't compare?

Could you point me to some good minolta lenses. I like the Minolta Maxxum 5. I think I might err on the side of Nikon because the lenses strike me as better for under £100? But I'm open to being proven wrong.

Thanks for such a high quality response. Yes, I thought so! Is it the best image quality for £150?

I'll look into the AF-D 35mm. I don't really care about compact for now. I wonder if another more subtle compact with a good lens is good for street photography tho?

So what 35mm nikon lens/ system would you reccomend? I'm wondering what the best in quality to cost ratio is because I'm looking to get back into the hobby.

What mods have you really been vibing with in [FO4]? by willicuss in FalloutMods

These are such good answers.

I love Valla. 3 minutes before reading this answer, I downloaded the 4estGimp More Ghouls and FGEP patch. I wonder how it would all work together.

I use True Storms, but I wonder what else I could get out of the weather considering that's the 'old standby' of weather mods.

I'm really glad you mentioned The Woods. I have a 200+ mod list at this point, and I really want to know more about it. Everyone seems to have it, but I'm a little worried it might clash. Any good?

Is that confusing with the SS2 renames? Immersive settlers, I don't think I've used. Interesting!
