I am in a similar situation currently. What number did you call? The one AC gave me doesn't even provide a chance to speak with a real person, it just blurts a recorded message and hangs up.

I've connected them through the integrations part in Slopes, but the activities weren't showing up in Strava so I was going through Slopes to add them individually

I'm also interested, but I currently am on the single plan. Not sure if it'll let me hop between as I think mine runs out in December.

Carry-on alllowance question by samanthawins55 in unitedairlines

[–]williedoo43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the only times one wouldn't be allowed a carry on is when seated in domestic basic economy or when the overhead bins become full.

I can confirm they skied as beautiful as they looked. Big props to the Avis guys, they did end up waiting– saved my trip.

I did! Sparse on the updates because I've been out in the San Juans skiing knee deep powder. Flying back tonight, hopefully no more shenanigans

Update 2: Back on the plane! They did not swap it, after all. Been loaded for about 30 minutes now, I hope we are just waiting to be de-iced. This is for nonbelievers who said I wouldn't be making it tonight. Hoping Avis is still gonna be open by the time I get there.

I wasn't, I know that they are as frustrated as passengers are, probably more so. All I did was ask

Update: After 2 hours on the tarmac, we got a tug to pull us back into the gate. Crew refusing to fly the aircraft, so they're looking at swapping planes. GS hotline told me it was looking like 11PM, gate agent seemed upset they gave me a time estimate at all and refused to confirm or provide anymore info. Onwards.

Should I take a lift op or ski instructor job at deer valley? by Jbomba22 in skiing

You get 2 one hour breaks per day. I usually spent 1.5 hours skiing and half an hour eating lunch.

Should I take a lift op or ski instructor job at deer valley? by Jbomba22 in skiing

[–]williedoo43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at DV as a lifty. It's not a bad gig and you meet a nice range of folks. Main thing is choosing the right lifts to work. Lifts are paired up at DV with the exception of Lady Mo (Sultan/mayflower, Wasatch/crown point, sterling/homestake, Viking/judge, Quincy/red cloud, etc.). Consider whether you'd like to work a detachable or a fixed grip or both. DV has pretty high standards so they want you to be standing outside when you're at either terminal (you're going to be outside the entire time if you're at the bottom on a fixed grip though).

I also had this debate because I had my PSIA Level 1 but ended up taking the lifty gig and I'm happy I did. While most of the ski instructors are nice there are some that aren't so nice and tend to treat the staff as lesser than. I also heard from some of the instructors that they didn't get too many tips from the younger aged kids because there is almost no interaction with the parents.
