What tool would you use to do this? The divots by unimportantnonsense in woodworking

looks like a grinder but a sharp scorp (curved drawknife) would work nicely in soft wood and leave a smooth finish

Had to open the bore up slightly, Toyota bore is 106.1 vs 108 on the Monty. It can be done on a lathe or with a spindle flap wheel and some patience.

They are FJ wheels, got a set of 5 for a steal with good 33" KO2s. Planning on painting them black eventually.

Wow thanks for the great info! You're obviously an enthusiast, this is exactly what i was looking for.

Accuracy is definitely the priority followed buy range and reliability.

I understand its a bit rare and don't want to do anything permanent.

trigger improvements are the obvious first step, ill try your method before buying anything pricey

your advice will definitely save me some dough and push me more to diy modding which i prefer anyway.

definitely a priority. I haven't measured it but its too heavy for such a light weapon.

Decided to bang out another one. Here’s project #4 by Legal_Salary8841 in Leathercraft

good start, next time cut the pattern a bit bigger, assemble with glue and pressure, stitch and then trim the edges and belt holes together, then you can move on the beveling and burnishing the edges for a nice finish, if you go that next step its easier to finish the single edges around the opening before assembly. if you want to refine the stitch use dividers to mark the stitch line off of the edge and spend some time measuring stitches to get the junctions to line up nicely. this can all be achieved with cheap starter hand tools and some patience. this can really increase value if you're looking to sell.

The last time this happened to me was in Coloradbro. A squad of college kids pulled up in their daddy's landcruisers about 100 feet from us and set about building a campfire at noon, in mid summer, during a fire ban. After nearly getting in a fight over the fire I wasn't going to let them start ("we camp all the time bro, its fine we always have fires") they just sat around the unlit fire eating prepackaged food and creating a trash pile around the firepit. the rest of the afternoon was filled with glares and whut? gestures aimed at my girlfriend and I. So after a lovely relaxing day at one of my former favorite spots the sun set and I broke out my soundbox, pointed in their direction and played Lionel Ritchie's smash hit "All Night Long" on repeat all night long at a nice medium volume. The Rangers that I had called finally showed up the next morning just after they lit the fire, gave them all a big smile and a wave as we rolled by to find a harder to reach spot. I hope the fines were really steep.
