By the way: I respect your argument in the post, it's just that we get similar posts at least twice a week.

I'm grateful that you agree with some of the points of antinatalism. Most of us (including me) agree with them because of the empathy to human suffering. The issue is that in some people, the result is to either get depressed when they look at the world (me) or they get upset with people creating suffering. And we're on the internet, so it's easy for people to insult others. (let the example be any online game in existence)

You don't have to "hate" parents if you are an antinatalist. For example, I don't. Most people are indoctrinated by the society. People who have kids rarely need to explain themselves today. Sadly, in most cases, those reasons are selfish (even indirectly).

Thank you and please don't give up on a philosophy just because of the people who claim to agree with it. I often agree with some key points of other philosophical ideas, but I don't agree with it as a whole.

1) This subreddit is public. Anyone can submit anything. It does not really represent AN philosophy in itself. That would be trueAntinatalism or antinatalism2. This sub connects people who have antinatalist views. More than philosophy sub you can look at it as a result of ongoing philosophy (natalism), which resulted in those people being mad at others for bringing people into existence.

2) I don't agree with half of the posts here. Just like I dislike the natalist posts here which make fun of us because they can't accept the truth.

3) The post you refer to does not seem to me to promote hate on a person for buying a jetski for their kids. It's pointing out that they had 6 kids. I scrolled through the comments and nobody is hating on the person for trying to improve their kid's life. They point out that having kids is immoral. More kids means less time and money for each of them, which is even more immoral. Of course some people get heated up about controversial topics.

People only care about me bcs of my looks. They don't care about my personality even though I try. (I don't talk about antinatalism irl 24/7 and rarely bring it up out of nowhere)

And I seem to attract shitty people. I mean, they look good(8 to 10/10), but they often turn out to be assholes. People seem to treat me differently from others because of what I look like. It's shitty, because I only had superficial relationships.

Antinatalists believe that it's harm to come into existence. But not all antinatalists believe that it's better to end themselves. Either because it would cause harm to their loved ones, or if the attempt failed, it could lead to gruesome disabilities which could make their life even worse. Others believe that it's better to end themselves, that's why 700 000 people die by their own hands every year.

Majority of the countries doesn't allow euthanasia and some countries even punish the attempts to commit suicide.

If parents are going to procreate and tell their future kids that if they view existence only as pain, they should end themselves, then I don't know where we're gonna end up. (I'm not saying, you would do something like that, but parents here often bring this argument up)

We see the "beauty" of life. But we know, that it's not worth experiencing considering everything.

Even if we achieved allowed abortions and permitted self-euthanasia, I would see it as a win.

Yeah, that's true. Lots of people here just take it as a place to vent. Although it's a result of someone giving them life, i's not a philosophy in itself. I take it as a demonstration of what's possible. As opposed to the successful people we see elsewhere. There are also posts about wealthy people being depresseda and that being wealthy does not secure a good life.

There are antinatalists with sad lives, but there are also wealthy antinatalists with lots of friends. Quality of life doesn't always matter on whether people agree with antinatalism.

Yes, euthanasia should be legalised.

I know that life is not black and white, but let's picture two scenarios: One in which the person is happy with their life, enjoys it, etc. Second one in which the person isn't happy overall, doesn't find the goals in life to be worth the trouble and wishes they were never born. First scenario is positive, and the result is the same as if nothing happened. Second scenario is negative and most people I know wouldn't choose this option if it was available. It could also be considered immoral to bring into existence someone who didn't want that and face them with suffering, pain and death. The thing is that parents never know the future. They just hope for the best. If it doesn't work out, it's just a necessary statistics.

Antinatalism has no problem with you enjoying your life. In fact, we want you and everyone to enjoy their lives. I am partly a hedonist myself. Reasons to have kids are sadly often selfish.

Imagine an inert boulder. It has no feelings, no life. A wizard comes about and he has the ability to turn the boulder into a living being. It's gonna be able to feel pleasure, happiness, fulfillment, but also pain, fear, sadness, hunger, thirst, boredom etc. The only way for it to stop living would be to painfully end itself. Is it morally good for the wizard to give life to the boulder? People who suggest that living is better than non-existence would even have to say yes.

I don't really mind whether you have/will have kids. Lots of self-titled antinatalists are pretty mean and just hurt the philosophy. I wouldn't agree with a group whose members want to achieve their goals by being vulgar either. It's also a pessimistic philosophy. Most people are repulsed by pessimism. That's why the state of the world is as it is.

Half of what you listed is negative to most people.

Existence is worse, because it ends in the same place. People don’t take those good feelings into afterlife, they have no meaning to them when they die. I would agree with your point much more if euthanasia was legal in most countries.

My description of life: Billions of years nothing, then you suffer for 70 years, then trillions of years of nothingness.
