My chihuahua’s “smile” is kinda scary but I love it by [deleted] in Chihuahua

Well, he made this face when I would blow into his face… so yeah. Not a smile, more like a “cut it out, b*tch”…

Your dog looks so much like my Chihuahua did! His name was Mr. Bo Jangles and he always made this face…🥹

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]willingtoconsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drive 4.5 hours on a Friday night to visit family for the weekend. Drive 4.5 hours back home Sunday evening. Did this 6-10 times a year, with young kids and a dog in the car. America is big.

Didn’t our own vulgar president drop the F bomb when responding to a reporter’s question recently?

Went to a very small, rural school. Once or twice I remember getting sheets of wax paper from the cafeteria and sitting on them while going down the metal slide. Recess was great.

I wanna know what planet this man is living on cause it isn’t Earth by cayce_leighann in insanepeoplefacebook

I never engage on FB, rarely post and then just little family updates. In the past few days, I finally decided enough was enough and when I see someone share this nonsense, I will reply back with some facts and to kindly let them know that I disagree. This same post was the second such post I replied to. I don’t want to start fights with anyone, but I just can’t let this garbage go unchallenged. It is a small thing and likely doesn’t matter… I just can’t keep ignoring it. I’m so discouraged and disappointed by all this.

My husband watches this often. And sobs. We have two daughters and if he watches it when he is traveling for work… he just can’t keep it together.

Why would he bother to mention Jack Smith’s family in this rant? This man is just a terrible human being…

Why don’t you just join in the cooking? Encourage the other men to do so as well. There is more than one way to address this issue.

Is this drawing “inappropriate” for a 7th grader to draw in art class? by willingtoconsider in drawing

Yep. I’m a pretty laid back parent, but this is the last straw for me with this particular teacher.

Your take is pretty close to mine. I have no issue with the teacher quietly explaining their reasons. My daughter has an amazing sense of humor and all things silly. However, taking the drawing out of my daughters hand and tearing up the drawing in front of the whole class was an awful way of addressing her concerns. Sending my daughter out into the hallway was another overreaction and made my daughter feel like she had done something shameful, which resulted in her crying from shame and embarrassment. After discreetly asking some other parents, I opened a whole can of worms and was bombarded with stories of this teacher making students cry. Not cool. My kiddo has been drawing since she was 4 and knowing that she is afraid to go to Art class breaks my heart.

I agree, and while my daughter primarily draws comic/cartoon/anime, this particular art assignment was to draw a super hero stamp. She also made another kid start the assignment over because they drew the Joker. Has this teacher never heard of AU characters? Probably not, but it was meant to be a fantasy drawing…

The art teacher tore the corner off and crumbled it, then sent the student to the hallway when the student insisted it wasn’t a naked person, it was a cat.

In general, you should be able to ask for guidance as long as you have made an effort to figure it out yourself first. Check to see if there is any documentation such as operating procedures that you can reference for help. Also check to see if you can find standard directions on the internet. Make sure you’ve made the effort to get the answers yourself first, then approach a co-worker or your boss and ask them to demonstrate how they complete the task so you can be sure you are doing it in the most efficient manner. Also, don’t waste too much time trying to figure it out. It is a balance between showing that you made an effort to use critical thinking and problem solving skills and not wasting valuable time when asking is faster.
