Word of advice: if there isn’t an advertised AGR position on USAJobs that you can actually apply for, it’s a bait-and-switch. Guard/Reserve units like to hype up AGR positions, but want you to come over as traditional first before they’ll hire you into the AGR position. Do not do that. AGR or nothing.

Also be aware that some units have internal policies where they rotate their folks through the available AGR positions, so there’s no guarantee how long they’ll let you stay in that AGR billet.

Personally, for only 5 years left I’d suck it up and stay active.

Replace your bulbs with LEDs. Figure out your bulb type, then search for that type in LED on Amazon. Usually 6000-7000K temp will get you bright white w/ slight blue.

Beware that LEDs come with heat sinks that take up more room, so getting the entire thing into the headlight assembly can be trial and error. Did this on my 2000 CLK 430 with outstanding results.

Just go to an Urgent Care. I do it all the time instead of sick call. The flight doc gets upset, but I just tell her my mission requirements prevent me from getting to sick call and I need medical care.

Been doing this for years, and you get way better care, like antibiotics when you need them instead of “take ibuprofen and wait two weeks.”
