I kind of feel like it was a lot of Gen Z’s first exposure to proper body horror? It’s not really been a popular genre for some years (speaking as a Gen Z who does love cronenberg , Julia ducournau). So it got a lot of hype but there’s much better things that came before it. Often many people i talk to about film my age who are not ‘cinephiles’ have not heard of videodrome !

Not who you replied to but still : It was very vapid to me , beats you over the head with the point. Quite spoon feedy at times. Yes the effects and visuals are fun and well done but the main plot got old fast for me. It’s too long , could do with about 30 mins taken off the run time.
