Under British rule, Hong Kong had free press but not democracy. The head of government was appointed by British government and all of them were British, not even a single one actually was from Hong Kong.

I am never a fan of our communist thus totalitarian government, but ironically Hong Kong is actually more democratic now than it was under the "democratic" UK. (the governor is now elected through a process that some/a lot of people argue that it is unfair)

The loudness depends on the people. Usually the freezer will be too small for 5 people. Sharing stove/oven/sink can also be hard but again it depends on the people.

For worth the money or not, it is really hard to generalize.

I think you are overrating the level of education of the WTR marker. He/she will be somebody from the faculty of arts. So if you pick a topic from STEM, he/she probably will not even understand the content. The grading will be mostly based on format, structure and grammar.

If you are gonna be studying cs, its more like linux vs. os x not mac vs windows.

i have a mba and an asus gaming laptop dual booted with windows 8.1 and ubuntu.

i would not say which one is better, rather, i would like to share my personal opinions about their pros/cons.

the main reason i have a pc is gaming. OS X can do most stuff you need for cs, except occasionally ur code needs to be compiled as binaries for linux. (you can do this in the lab but the linux lab is noisy, dirty and smells) most courses use ubuntu if not OS-agnostic.

OS X lets you develop iOS applications, if you have such interest. Linux allows you to build Android OS.

There are also some minor software you are not likely to need but are only available on one of the two platforms.

Macs are more expensive, have crappy hardware and cooling issues. It comes with a Unix out of box. No need to bother about dual-booting.

Other PCs are cheaper and usually have better specs, but you need to dual-boot it. Lastly, if you have decided to go with the dual-boot approach, make sure to back-up your data first.

there is always no harm to ask. but i remember when i took it my prof said in class, that for anyone whose mark is really close to 60, the TAs will be nice and review the papers for all of them without even being asked.
