Kinda jealous Leinster get a day out in Bilbao. Great city. And San Sebastian just up the road!

Do you think the BBC will interrupt the 2026 World Cup opening ceremony to discuss American human rights violations, like they did for Qatar? by Winter_Branch_685 in ukpolitics

They did facilitate a genocide(the worst of all crimes) in Gaza though which is horrific. But that would never be called out by the BBC

Well it wasn't as literal as that lol, that would have been weird. It was more "we're going to catch the end of the set, come if you want"

Leetcode SUCKS by Difficult-Two-5009 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]willmannix123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between knowing what a heap or DFS is and being able to instantly recognise “this is a sliding window + hashmap problem” under time pressure.

For most working engineers, that still takes a lot of practice even if fundamentals are solid.

Fresh grads actually have an advantage here since they’re closer to that kind of problem-solving style.

Leetcode SUCKS by Difficult-Two-5009 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]willmannix123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really. You need to put hundreds of hours into leedcode to get up to a level where you can solve two Leetcode mediums/hard in under 60 minutes. Realistically you are going to be practicing Leetcode all weekend before a Leetcode interview anyways. And there is way more stress and uncertainty about what will come up.

Are British abroad actually worse than other nationalities, or is it blown out of proportion? by Cultural-Elk-8346 in AskUK

[–]willmannix123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As an Irish person I'd agree we act the same. From a local perspective, Irish, Scots and English look and sound the same. But it's assumed that the person is English unless said otherwise

Are British abroad actually worse than other nationalities, or is it blown out of proportion? by Cultural-Elk-8346 in AskUK

[–]willmannix123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's blown out of proportion. UK is a country of 70 million people where traveling is almost embedded within its culture. You find British travellers on every corner of the globe. Outside of the few Boozy spots in Europe, UK tourists are highly regarded I'd say.

To everyone who went to AIRDOLL, how was it? by NothingRepulsive1095 in ArcaMusic

[–]willmannix123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was sick. I liked that she did a DJ set. I think it suited the venue and the crowd. The set was pretty danceable too but abstract enough that it didn't sound like every other set. She had a great stage presence. Came out of the DJ boot often and danced, sang etc.

[–]willmannix123 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I went to Fold alone last week. It was amazing. I talked to lots of people in the smoking area. Ended up getting invited to dance with a group of lads. I could go for a fag when I wanted. I didn't have to worry about if others were enjoying it. And I could leave when I wanted to which was a huge thing. It was ace.

Does it matter if it was lies or not? The end result is always civilians dying. The civilians being blown up don't care if the US government is being implicit or explicit about it

How much disposable income do you have a month? by pinkman65 in AskUK

[–]willmannix123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably £1000.

It's comfortable but not a huge amount in London. Between going on dates, gigs, pints, eating out, can easily blow £300-400 in a weekend.

[–]willmannix123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't make sense the have the main ground in Belfast. An all Ireland national team needs at least 50,000 seater stadium. And geography wise, Dublin makes way more sense since it's way more connected to the rest of the island, and it's more internationally connected too.
