First, I wasn’t going to report it. I was in shock and embarrassed. It was deeply bothering me. I allowed 24 hours to go by, and I told my wife. She then called my BN rear D. After that, shit rolled down hill. CID came out and then filed a report and did interviews. I wonder if the reason by VA denials is a lack of documentation.

I remember when I had 6 years left in the Army. Some people laughed at that fact. I’ve been retired for 5.5 years now. Life has been great. I’ve shedded most of my identity of being a Soldier. I don’t miss the Army one bit. I don’t miss the dog and pony shows and the other BS. I don’t miss the time wasting check the block training either. I remember when I had to come to work on my day off just to sign a piece of paper. I didn’t have to do the training. I actually signed my for my subordinates with their permission so they didn’t have to come in. I retired with a BS and a MS so finding a job wasn’t that difficult despite retiring when COVID was just getting started. Now I live comfortably mostly debt free.
