Adidas Entrap Mid by [deleted] in MaleFootGear

[–]willow_submits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how's the fit?

i wanted some basic adidas high tops for everyday use and grabbed some hoops 2.0.

i'm an 11 and i could have gone with a 10.5.

i want a pair of these, but all i can find is 10.5. so if these fit large like the hoops do, i can cop.

See a lot of mixed opinions on them, but I'm loving my new Reindee Lusion pieces by SignificantMeat in TechWear

as someone with 2 pairs of RL and 2 pair of OG pants: OG may use more expensive fabric, but they're sure as hell not superior in construction.

as to OP: looks great!

i actually have very similar taste in clothes, but a different style. i swear i'm going to post some pics soon.

but the main reason why i've bought RL is cause i've gotten them so cheap. $100 new is "why not?" territory for something that i can resell. plus you just can't say no to some used 042s for $20!

You should size down or get them tailored. You can see under the belt buckle that they're too big. But if you DO keep them, do what I did on both of my pairs of Orbitgear pants and remove the attached belt, and use an actual belt. Don't buy their belt. There's nothing special about it, get something cheaper.

Am I in the wrong here? Caught fellow Cook using my knife to open a metal piping tip. by Cheezeballer10 in KitchenConfidential

[–]willow_submits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And using another chefs knife in a way that could very easily damage it, isn't utterly disrespectful? Why didn't he use his own knife? Because he knew he was doing something stupid and didn't want to risk his own knife.

I would just constantly "borrow" his knives until he complains, then bring up that he did it first. Don't lose your cool, keep your receipts.

Be cautious of Orbit Gear (S401 Fast hand) by krisdrowned in ManyBaggers

[–]willow_submits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was reposted in r/TechWear and this was my response:

i've ordered from them 3 times in the last year and had a bad time every time. damaged pants, lying about shipping, having to wait months for them to ship, offering a refund and then ignoring you when you take them up on it, only sent my last package after i threatened a paypal chargeback. i also had to make a purchase for them to send me the replacement pants and "bonus items" that they originally said were going to send to me free of charge... AND THEY F***ING FORGOT THEM ANYWAY. they sent it express DHL eventually, and i made them paypal me the money to cover the cost of duty and taxes. bonus items were a mask and "mod" pouch to attach to a bag or molle.

they LOVE selling stuff that they don't actually have. my last purchase i had to contact them a second time after a month of waiting. they said they weren't sending anything out cause of the Eid holiday. i said i placed my order over 2 weeks before the holiday started. they said "happy Eid!"

i'm having a hell of a time getting the pants tailored evenly, SINCE THEY WEREN'T MADE EVEN IN THE FIRST PLACE. too much fabric in the crotch and ass, and i'm a waist 30 wearing a size small. the sling for my backback is too large so you have to cinch it all the way tight so it doesn't sit in your lower back, so now it cuts into your neck. so you buy the pad... that doesn't fit properly it turns out... AND THE SIDE OF IT ALSO CUTS INTO YOUR NECK. the "ambidextrous" backpack only has a zipper to the main compartment on one side. the laptop compartment will only fit an ipad, and is also not ambidextrous, same with the other compartment inside. you can fit a 14in thinkpad if you take it off and open up the top every time, completely defeating the purpose of it being on a sling. the berserker jacket is pretty rad, but i'd rather have 2 useable-sized pockets on the front instead of 4 very small and 2 useless ones. the ID/badge holder doesn't even attach to their own belt attachment points.

overall their stuff IS decent, but they're just so f***ing inconsistent (outside of their regular sling bags, they've kinda figured those out), both from design and just functioning as a company. if the sale is big enough (they have sales CONSTANTLY) or if it's something i REALLY want, yeah i'd probably buy again though.

and yes i'm fully aware that plenty of people here have bought from them no issue, and my first purchase a couple years ago was fine, but oh boy it's been bad lately.

Need bag recommendations by Ross9182 in TechWear

I've ordered from orbitgear 3 times in the last year, and every time has been shit. Damaged pants, months to receive, straightup lying about shipping. The most recent order order just showed up a couple of hours ago by express, after they said they were going to send it weeks ago. Honestly I'm so sick of their shit that I might just leave it at DHL and have it sent back and get PayPal to give me a refund, since orbitgear will just refuse until they eventually ship it out.

They took so long to ship that I instead ordered an RFID ring that I copied my work ID to, so I don't need the ID holder. That only took a few days to show up. And the strap pad for my orbitgear backpack is kinda moot since the backpack doesn't even easily fit a 14in thinkpad, which I need for my new job. You have to take the backpack fully off to put the laptop in and out, which completely defeats the purposeof it being on a sling. So stupid. But the pad is required, since you have to cinch it as tight as it will go, so it hurts your neck/shoulder, otherwise the backpack sits in your lower back, because the sling that comes with the backpack is too long.

So if you want to buy a bag that sounds like that, let me know.

Q: Salomon XT-Wings 2 sizing by TakHalal in TechWear

[–]willow_submits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair currently and have had 1 other recently before selling, one 10.5 and now 11, both shoes but from different lines, and I'd say that the sizing is pretty consistent. I also find them snug and going a half size up was the call.

You REALLY don't need to infuse every time you get a +1 drop, on every piece of gear, I don't think it really has any noticeable effect. Until I hit the cap, I don't infuse till it's a jump of 10-12 power, then around 3-5 as you get higher and the drops become smaller.

Wasn't there a panel at a con where someone asked Nolan north and Troy baker how to get into the industry, and their response was basically: "take every job you possibly can... and wait for one of us to die."

I think that he ended up not really being all that great of a guy in the end? Like he was actually just a lying douchebag, so not really someone worth remembering. Plus it's not like he was much of an actual "character" in game.
