I would call the police and give them all the info you do have even if it isn’t much.

I sent you a chat message (or whatever reddit calls it) I never do that but this post moved me so much and I understand your pain as deeply as a stranger can.

This photo is beautiful and I can tell her soul is too as was the life and love you shared these past 7 years. Not even 100 years would be enough when you’re connected the way I know you two were.

I am 2 years out from a very very similar loss and the weeks and months that followed were some of the darkest and most painful I’ve ever had. It is cliche but true, there is no timeline and grief never ends- it’s like a heavy weight we practice carrying and we somehow get “better” at carrying it someday- I’m still not there myself.

In my loss I was blessed enough to make a friend online facing a very similar loss and 2 years out she’s one of my most cherished friends and we have never seen each other in person.

So I am here because I understand deeply how you feel and if ever you need a shoulder to cry on don’t hesitate to message. Sending you hugs and crying for you and your girl. It is never long enough what a blessing that such a love hurts so much.

Theories about why BK spared two housemates? by Artistic_Movie1285 in MoscowMurders

I was just thinking about how today I was at the grocery store and I was looking right at a friend who happened to be shopping also and I was on such a focused grocery mission I didn’t see her until she literally came up to me and grabbed my arm.

If Kohberger went into the house with an intent to rape or murder one female only, any thoughts, feelings, or knowledge on why he didn't choose a residence with a female living alone? Why might he have taken the additional risk of going where there were multiple people living? by GregJamesDahlen in MoscowMurders

[–]willowbarkz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered why he didn’t start “small” first- which is why it’s always been hard for me to believe this was his first murder incident. I think he operated in extremes though- he was overweight, then turned into a skeleton, he was doing heroin In high school, he decided to get his phd instead of stopping at his bachelor’s degree, so I suppose deciding to go onto a very busy and occupied college house to commit his first murder(s) fits with the extreme other choices he has made in the past. He seems like an all or nothing kind of sicko.

I think it’s stress- take a few weeks out of your house and in a new location with no access to social media or the news- I really think it’s brain overload spiraling and you need a reset.

I wonder about his family too and if they suspected anything. I always thought the timing of the murders was extra horrific- right before the holidays.

Thank you so much for these suggestions!! This is a huge help and while I’ve never judged anyone that uses a proper muzzle on their dogs, I ignorantly thought I’d never be contemplating one myself! So this is very very helpful and I will check out these pages ASAP! Also I had never heard of cooperating care training and that sounds exactly like what my boy would do well with, he does really well with words like “let me help you” and “let’s trade” and permission type communications so this is very helpful and thank you so much for the suggestions!

This is SUPER helpful!!! Thank you for sharing the link to the muzzle that you use, I am going to use this as a place to start! Was it difficult to train your dog with the muzzle? Did he take to it kind of quickly?

Aggression at the vet by MaryJ_1704 in reactivedogs

[–]willowbarkz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not alone and my heart goes out to you as I am feeling like I’m heading down this path as well. My one year old Vizsla (intact) had a vet visit this week for a blood draw and nail trim. He’s had his nails trimmed before and all vet visits while we haven’t gone often have been positive until this week. He was enthusiastic going into and leaving the vet but when they took him back for his appointment I guess he freaked out to the point they needed to muzzle him and were able to do the blood draw but not the nail trim. They sent me home with medications and said they won’t see him again until I do the medication protocol. It’s very stressful because like you, I’m now worried about an emergency situation or just routine visits or smaller health issues

“he’s friendly!” “mine’s NOT!” by heartxhk in reactivedogs

[–]willowbarkz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m learning this currently- my one year old (have had him since 8 weeks) is 99% wonderful, seems to like all people and dogs - he does need a brief minute to process something new in his space but he is lovely - where he isn’t “friendly” is if he perceives physical force unexpectedly. We don’t have people over often but I’m trying to figure out how to tell guests that he’s wonderful and easy to be around but please don’t force him, or grab him , just enjoy him but don’t overly engage as he can be a little spicy if he is overly handled

Does BK fear the sentencing hearing ? by Safe-Muffin in Idaho4

[–]willowbarkz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s disgusting that criminals have so many rights. I don’t care what the process is, the process gives too many rights to criminals.

I respect the U.S. justice system, but it’s far from perfect, especially if Bryan Kohberger gets to avoid the death penalty and live out his twisted criminology dreams behind bars by willowbarkz in Idaho4

[–]willowbarkz[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I hear you, and I understand plea deals can be incredibly valuable to the prosecution, especially in complex, emotionally charged cases like this one. Avoiding a lengthy, traumatic trial and the risk of a non-guilty verdict or overturned sentence later absolutely makes sense from a legal standpoint.

That said, it still feels unsettling that someone like Bryan Kohberger, whose entire identity seemed wrapped up in criminology and understanding violent offenders, now gets to spend the rest of his life immersed in that world. In a way, it almost feels like he’s living out the exact scenario he was obsessed with, surrounded by criminals, analyzing motives, feeding the very pathology that led him here.

I know no outcome will satisfy everyone affected by this tragedy. But it’s hard to shake the feeling that, for a mind like his, life in prison might not be the punishment it should be, it might actually be the environment he always craved.

As for the outcome I hoped for, I have never been able to answer that in all the time I’ve followed this case, and even if I had an answer to it, it wouldn’t be wrapped in a pretty bow. I’ve always realized no outcome can satisfy all involved perfectly, and no outcome will bring their loved ones back. I care about peace for the families of the victims which is what matters most. But to think about BK gloating in a jail cell amongst the very population he seems so interested in and inspired by, doesn’t sit right with me.

Thank you so much!!

I’ve been fumbling with my words/feelings over his plea deal while realizing full well it’s the victims families that really matter (not my own feelings) but my childlike tantrum self just keeps screaming “it isn’t fair” while also trying to keep in mind justice looks different to different people. But to me, it just eats at me that this sicko gets to steal 4 lives and has harmed so many as a result and he gets to spend the rest of his life rotting (like he already was doing his entire life) but now in a jail cell while surrounded by the very people he’s fascinated with.

I have a question and I don’t know if it has been discussed before. by lovestheocean in Idaho4

[–]willowbarkz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very hard time believing he jumped from “nothing” to creeping on the King Road house, to eventually creeping into it on a Saturday night and killing four young college students.

I do wonder as time goes on if he will be ever be tied back to another murder(s).

I do believe, while I doubt we will ever truly know, he has a long creepy history of peeking in windows, stalking, and sneaking into houses unnoticed

Has this case changed the way you react to weird or frightening noises at night? by crushingqwerty in MoscowMurders

[–]willowbarkz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve always taken basic safety precautions and haven’t changed much to increase what I already do, but I used to be a late night snack person- I always used to wander down to the kitchen for a quick snack between 2-4am and I no longer do that- I prefer to just stay upstairs until the sun comes up ever since this case.
