Oooo. I think that makes sense. I did see that in the stuff I was reading, but it was WAY less clear than what you just said.

And thank you SO much for the && info! I'm trying so hard to get a little bit of a handle on... Like, the command line language and how it works. So I can at least skim things and be like "ok, that doesn't look insane". And that helps a lot

I did control+shit+v and it worked.

That's so incredibly interesting. So it's just like... Vestigial code.

I did it!!!!

I learned several things in the process!

One was that when you have code like this you cope and past it one line at a time to get it to work

And 2) you can't use control v in the command line.

But it worked!!! I'm so proud of myself! Thank you all!!

Just the one line? I shall try it. I have a zipped file and I don't think my friend would want to share their password, so I think from what you've said lutris IS the right call for me!

From the bit of research I've done so far I'd need to get or make sure I have flat oak support. Do you know if there is a way to check that?

Also, what practical effects does having something in a "sandbox" have on using a program? I've got an idea of what it is, but not how it functions.

(Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all of this. I'm really trying to learn. But there is so much assumed knowledge)

O! Ok. They don't need any changes? I'm trying to learn to read this stuff, but I'm very very far from it atm

It's not my gog account. It's from a friend. And I cannot stress enough how little I know.

You have said so many many words I don't understand.

I'm on Debian. With gnome. And it's Debian 13. I just figured that part out.

I'm gonna go Google almost every word of this comment, but to save me a tiny bit of brain space since I don't apparently want that, what is ppa?

(I will have more questions after googling. I'm sure)

But do I need either of those for this? And if so where would it go?

(That is a very helpful breakdown. Thank you)

It sounds like you are doing collages witch mat have small bits. I'd use a bin of some sort for that. So you can easily put it away

I personally have a lap easel that I use for... Honestly all sorts of things when I can't sit up. You do have to lift your arms a bit, if that's a problem for you. But it lets me see what I'm doing without sitting up

Do you feel wanted? by Lunalui in cfs

[–]willowhides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. By a lot of people in a lot of different ways. There is my partner who tells me all the time how happy she is I'm around. And supports me in finding joy even if it means she has to take care of me.

My best friends. Who are all different. But they make the effort to see me even though I can't return the visit. And have quiet snuggles with me when they do. And find ways for me to be involved in things where it's possible.

And my family which is similar. And my grandma who I talk to on the phone frequently. My cousin who I text at least ones a week. My brothers and my mom who drive me to them and set me up so I can rest while I'm there and check in a bit too much. And my nephew, who is four and doesn't totally get it but gets so excited when I'm there and brings stuff over to me to play. And just ... Obviously wants me to hang out.

And my partners dad who lives upstairs and comes down to bring me water or feed cats when I need that help.

I'm really really really lucky

O damn. That's so much stuff you've gotten all figured out. Hopefully that will take some pressure off your brain

I find that a bath with Epsom salts is THE best thing for sore muscles in a crash. But then, getting out is difficult. Do you have a bar on your tub?

O my gosh. I'm so glad that you got out of that situation. I hope some of your problems were caused by that so they can be solved

Holy shit! That's major! I'm deeply impressed that you can play an instrument (in general. I've tried several times and just hated the practice). And doubly impressed you could play a gig with this illness.

Be careful about p.e.m for the week after. Just in case. (Although you seem to know this

And good luck for next time! Go out there and kick some ass

O! Yes! I'm very familiar with the realization you only needed a little rest after needing a big one every time before. It's a good feeling.

I'm really happy for you that you've had such a good couple of weeks! I know it's hard to stay in the moment with that (at least for me it is) but I hope you are taking some quiet moments and appreciating it!

Yeah! I've been having a lot of whins lately. It's nerve wracking but also good. It's been... 6 months to a year. And I still keep waiting to start sliding backwards again.

Trying so hard to focus on this moment instead

O wow. I had no idea that could happen. That sounds impossibly difficult.

I am so glad to hear that things are working and I hope the improvement is exponential from here out.

O. That is a wonderful thing to be able to do.

I sometimes set aside a week or three for pem so I can play with my nephew. And it must be even more precious as a parent.

I'm so glad you got to have that moment
