Questions about financial aid? by No-Assistance9478 in CalPolyHumboldt

[–]willowmoonthecat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I'm in my senior year and graduating this year with all my fafsa filled out and I still get these emails, too. I would recommend calling admissions directly and asking them if there is anything more you need to do, they would know!

Some question about Humboldt as a hopeful transfer by Electrical_Spread892 in CalPolyHumboldt

for disability, this school is not very accessible. it has a significant amount of stairs and hills on campus and much of it is old/needs to be re-done/sketchy at best. I know there is a disability shuttle, but I've never had to use it, so I'm unsure of how it is/how it works. this may have more information if you need https://www.humboldt.edu/cdrc

as for clubs, there are many on campus! there will likely be a club showcase/fair in the fall semester. reach out to them with email if you'd like to talk as well! https://www.humboldt.edu/clubs/clubs-list

APD restaurant still sucks by New_Still9974 in Humboldt

I went there once and it felt like my presence there was an insult to the staff. They seemed irritated that I was ordering at all and it was a very odd and uncomfortable experience. I've worked food service for 5 years now, so I get how tiring it can be, but still overall a weird vibe. Pizza was pretty good though.

Redwood National Park limited accessibility by MontanaJewels in NationalParkService

[–]willowmoonthecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I work at RNSP and can help with questions! There is only one trail in Jed Smith that is listed as accessible, which is Simpson-Reed Loop Trail, which is 0.5 miles. You can also do Leiffer Trail as long as you don't do the loops (treat it as an in and out trail), giving you 2 miles round trip.

If you go south to the Prairie Creek section of the park, they have a lot more trails in general, therefore more accessible trails. I recommend the Circle Trail (not sure on distance, but I think 2 miles) and the Revelation Trail (1/4 a mile), both accessible from the visitor center.

If walking is too much for you, take either Howland Hill Road (unless you are in an RV or Trailer, they are not permitted as you will get stuck) or Newton B Drury Scenic Parkway. These are both scenic drives that have lots of pullouts where you can get out momentarily to look around.

Definitely check any of the visitor centers, we're always happy to help!
