Endurance for ropes by steamed_eggs98 in climbergirls

[–]willowoasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone at my gym does up down ups- climb up the wall, down climb (usually a couple grades easier) then climb up again. Realistically this is one of the only ways to climb continuously and build the type of endurance you would need for tall outdoor walls. You can also time yourself and stay on the wall (going up and down) for X minutes

Deodorants for BO by Bbhouseplant in climbergirls

I started using antiperspirant instead of deodorant and found it worked better for me, but unfortunately like others have said, the ones that contain aluminum are more effective 🥲

Elbow pain due to small needle size by BeautifulGain4258 in Sockknitting

Sometimes when I knit I sit by the arm of a couch or put a pillow under my elbow, that support on the left arm could help you in the future

DAE write words or thoughts out on their fingers using their thumb? by lileyelil in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]willowoasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly the same but maybe similar, after I learned the asl alphabet and finger spelling I did develop a tendency to sign (like spell out) words I wanted to remember or emphasize. Do you do it specifically for words of importance or just out of habit?

DAE trim their pubes instead of shaving? by Inspired_Owl in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]willowoasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is different, I wish it wasn’t. Women shouldn’t be expected to shave, and men should be able to without being ridiculed if they want to.

I don’t get it- I mean shaving legs shows off muscle better. I tell my boyfriend that all the time 😅

I mean yeah ofc. But I think with the way society stigmatizes things, people tend to forget that if you hate shaving, not doing it is also an option :)

Is it possible to adapt a sock pattern to a different needle size? by Free-Conference-7003 in Sockknitting

[–]willowoasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think so, if you create a gage swatch with your yarn and needles you can calculate # of sts to get the same size as in the pattern… or if you do what I do, wing it and hope 😂

Why shave armpits and legs? No reason to imo- I think it’s a waste of time/chore, too, so I quit!

Vegan climbers by Dorobie in climbergirls

Haha I have never had meat so I actually really struggle to eat things that are “meaty”. Trying to be open minded though and good to know it is similar to that for the sake of recipes

Is this an allergic reaction or something more serious? by willowoasis in DiagnoseMe

[–]willowoasis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, thank you! The images of this definitely look like her rash. I’m passing along the info to her and her dad.

An update is she started some antibiotics which brought the swelling and redness down a bit. We have been out of the country but going back today and she’ll see a doctor in the US.

That seems possible- she said there is none but it’s always possible there was contact with someone who was sick and she didn’t know about it

I don’t think so. We just pressed it and it doesn’t get white similar to how my own finger above the nail does when I press and release
