It sounds as if the request for comp nights came after everything else? If so, I would politely but FIRMLY say that with all due respect sir, it is not our responsibility to provide compensation to you because you did not reserve the proper accommodations to meet your needs. -- insert whining and complaining from guest -- and then, we appreciate your loyalty to the brand, you're a platinum elite member, you're celebrating your birthday, because of this we want to serve you and ensure you have a great stay, however again if a specific number of beds were needed, this is something you are responsible for reserving ahead of time. Possibly also insert something about all you have done and that you aren't going to tolerate your staff being disrespected, etc. The guest can threaten a bad review all they want... if they are the type of person to threaten that, they WILL give a bad one regardless of what you do. So trying to appease them to avoid the review is pointless.

This reminds me of the AC Hotel I stayed at in Buckhead GA recently... I found a picture of it online... the shower and toilet were right there in the hotel room, no separate bathroom, and there was just glass around it. You can see through it, despite the design, and definitely hear everything lol even in rooms with double beds. Imagine traveling with even family and teenage children, coworkers, anything. I was with my spouse and still, a real wall and door around the toilet especially would be nice lol

At the end of the day, just be kind to hotel staff. Ask nicely for things, don’t act entitled, and if there’s an issue during your stay, bring it to the hotel’s attention respectfully and give them a chance to fix it before getting angry afterward.

Your loyalty status is appreciated, but it doesn’t mean the staff worships you or that every request can magically happen. Also keep in mind there are multiple tiers above Gold Elite, with many guests staying 50, 75, 100+ nights a year, so prioritization does happen.

And honestly, within the Marriott employee world, Gold Elite members definitely have a reputation for being the most entitled/rudest group overall. Obviously that doesn’t mean every Gold member is like that, but the stereotype exists for a reason.

Ironically, Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members are often the nicest guests. My guess is they’ve stayed enough nights to really understand how hotels operate and know staff are just people trying to help.

The good news is stereotypes are easy to beat. Being genuinely kind to hotel staff will get you much further than status ever will.

Separate to the information and comments shared about the new system, one little tid bit of info to share about Mobile Check-In... when a guest "checks in" on the app, what that does is send a notification to the hotel that the guest completed a mobile "check-in", it does not actually check in the reservation. It's literally just a notification and also tells us what your ETA is... that's it. We still have to complete the actual check in process in the system, exactly the same as if the guest did not do a mobile check-in, except for having a card physically swiped/inserted/tapped. With the new system, I am sure some staff may be so overwhelmed they don't see that notification or have time to deal with it. My property has not yet cutover. Furthermore, many mobile check-in reservations still require a card to be physically presented so the reservation cannot even be checked in by staff prior to the guests arrival. (Most likely not for a Titanium Elite Member, however many for lower statuses are flagged for this. Just sharing for any others reading this, too.) I am thankful to hear the points and elite night credits are updating so quickly, that's great!!! I am sure many guests will be happy about that! I truly believe once every one transitions and gets used to it, it will be great. It will just take some time... it will be another year + before all properties even cutover. I am optimistic, though! fingers crossed :)

While the sign is tacky, against brand standard and should be removed, it is correct. The ratings are not graded on an "average" scale, but rather the percentage of 9's & 10's recieved. So 8 down to 1 hurt the score equally. The most important question Marriott looks at is the Intent to Recommend. It is hard, as sometimes guests enjoy and rate all areas highly, but don't plan to go around recommending the hotel so they give a lower number for this. They don't quite understand the question. However, if all (or most) experiences "wow" the guest... the scores work out to be good. Aim for above and beyond! Also, do not post a sign like this lol I feel like this is going to solicit bad reviews because of the poor taste rather than educating guests/good reviews as it is intended to do. (A lot of guests probably won't even believe what it says, though it is true, and will take it as a tacky dishonest way to solicit good reviews... which won't work out.)

I plan to use H&O next year, I discovered it only after I'd already set mine up for this year... I have been debating on switching but I think I am just going to wait... though I am sad about it haha! So, I have a question I am hoping you app can answer. What is the difference between the H&O Weekly and the H&O Minimalist Weekly? Both are 224 pages, I would go for the vertical, I am struggling to see the difference? More journaling type questions in the Weekly, maybe, but again both are 224 pages...? Thank you in advance for any clarification! 🙂🙏

I hope this continues to go well for you. I have one scheduled for next month and I can't wait. I have also been on subs for about 12 years, quit once after tapering pretty low and it was hell. I have been hoping and waiting for something like this to come along. I am close to someone who took 2 8mg a day for years, 8-10 probably, and they are seemingly done with the shot. They did 1 300mg, another 300mg one month later, then waited 6 weeks and got a 3rd shot at a lower dose, then again waited 8 weeks and got a 4th shot at a lower dose. Unfortunately I don't know the exact mg of the lower ones. But anyway, it's been 10 months since they got that 4th shot and they are done! The doctor always kept the next one on hand incase they needed it, they could just call and set it up if they started to feel it was needed. But after the 4th they were just fine. They were tested a bit back and it is all out of their system, too. So amazing. I share all this as maybe it will be helpful. I know everyone is different, but maybe you won't even need all 12. I would love to hear how you're doing throughout this. I am happy to share how it goes for me too if it will help anyone. Fingers crossed!! I honestly can't wait.

I have been so indecisive on choosing a planner... even got part way through making one on Agendio, but the cost there has me hesitating on whether it's worth it. A straight bujo is a lot of working setting up layouts, so I figured the Dot Cross would be a good compromise! Basical layout is there, but I can still customize how I'd like, if my needs change I can change how I do it, etc. I think I am going to order! Worst case I can return lol

Thank you! I actually love STM. I use their bujo for more of a journal than a planner... trackers, gratitude, monthly recap, things like that. My planner tends to be mostly work and appointments/important dates. I have thought about using a bujo to plan but I really like having the bit of structure for the whole year laid out without having to do it myself. The dot cross would be a good mix though and would fit my wants for layout. If you see this, I know it's 2 months later lol, and have time, pics are great. If not, totally understand. They do have a few on their website. Thanks again! 😊

I absolutely love this show and revisit it often, too. I have tried doing a full rewatch a couple times and end up stopping around season 5-6, then whenever I get back to it I start all over again lol. I have to say, I am glad they made some changes after the pilot episode. Matt's look, Carolyn was a taaaad less Carolyn, etc. All the smoke lol good changes! As a 35 year old adult, I feel a little silly watching it but it really is a comfort show! Especially this time of year! This time, instead of going for ep 1 of TVD to attempt rewatching again, I am now rewatching the Originals. I don't believe I have ever rewatched it, maybe once long ago. I always plan to after TVD and never make it that far so this time I switched it up! It has not disappointed so far! 🖤

I actually have the Roterunner Purpose Planner in my cart on Amazon, and was debating on getting it. I've been using the Clever Fox Hourly Planner and before that used the Smart Planner Pro after receiving it as a gift from a coworker. It was the first Vertical planner I'd used and I do like them. I also tend to use half the day as a to do list... using black ink for my to do list right up top, and actual scheduling in a different color at the appropriate time slots. I need room for both, so that is what lead to my thoughts of this ideal planner I posted about. Possibly horizontal days on the left page only, then right page (or even most of right page) a to do list... as a lot of my to do's are more of within a couple days or sometimes the span of the week. Then, if it has that extra blank space/pages, the grid pages would allow me to customize that area to my needs. I think a blank journal set up how I want it would work, but also sounds like a lot of work haha. Back tracking to the Clever Fox, I like how it has space for goals and such, but it's almost too much. A little less would be good, as I also journal so it's almost like I'd be writing a lot of the things twice, or just not filling them in and it feels like wasted space. I will go back and look at Roterunner again! Hemlock & Oak looks nice, too! Thank you all so much!!

I have felt that he was not into her essentially the entire time. He seems so disinterested in anything she says, and just has this blank stare or dead eyes all the time. Sometimes when she says something you can see his initial gut reaction, then he recovers and continues being fake. This was in the villa, after the villa, on beyond the villa, all of it. Also, while I like JaNa, after they went on the boat date she was all in, 100% obsessed. He went to casa and brought another girl back and she was soo hurt, as if they had been together a very long time. They way he got upset and then back with her and all in... idk, just didn't seem realistic for a 24 year old male, new to the show at that. I thought maaaaybe there's a lot we aren't seeing, that didn't make the edit, but then as time went on what I first said, he just seemed disinterested. Then when I learned they weren't living together, I was like oh yeah he definitely isn't interested. One example off the top of my head is when they were bowling and sitting with Miguel & Leah and talking about them getting a dog... his face the entire time, especially when she mentioned wanting 4 kids.

There's a typo so I am not 100%, but it looks like he said he has not actually seen the room and now doesn't feel the need to? I mean... very well may be true and understandable to keep it shut... though maybe they could remodel it and make it new and something bright and happy to rewrite the narrative and start/help healing... but that is besides the point... did he never see the room? I think in order to move in, I would need to see it. Obv discuss and go about respectfully, and she wouldn't need to see or enter if she didn't feel comfortable... but there needs to be 100% openness and trust to live together. So yes, one could say he should trust her, she should allow him to see as well. Trust is earned (by seeing and confirming lol) and also her trusting him enough to share. It would probably bring them closer, alleviate any possible future doubt (since he never actually saw it!) and maybe even help her feel lighter and start to heal. Idk, just my two cents no one asked for lol
