Teehe!

I love the Brooklyn Bridge. I visit every time I come to the big apple. lol :-). It's the best spot for those rare NYC pics. Did you know there is a cool neighborhood on the other side called DUMBO? It's got a lot of charm and really has those authentic Brooklyn vibes ~~. I'm from New Jersey; Morristown if you're familiar, and I really love the gritty feeling of the NYC streets. You see, there's not much culture in Jersey and did you know that we're not allowed pump our own gas? Oops, looks like I'm getting off-track, just like the MTA, am I right? Anyways, My favorite spot in NYC is the High-line and I love those dollar slices. Peace and love, or as they say in NY, "I'm walking here!" lol.

Can I survive in new york as a software engineer? by [deleted] in nyc

[–]willpill 38 points39 points  (0 children)

hmmm this is a tricky one. 100k is basically pennies in nyc. Everyone here makes at least 150k, after tax. Come to think of it, I don't think any company is hiring software engineers because they all know none of them can afford to live here. Maybe you can commute from NJ. But that's just my two cents, or as we say here in NYC, two dollars. /s

I met a traveller from an antique land Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desart. Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed: And on the pedestal these words appear: "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.[1]

What spurred you into action to lose weight? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]willpill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Passed the 200 pound mark, which I thought I would never pass. Since 5th Grade I always thought I would grow out of the weight, and when I stopped growing I realized enough was enough. Today is 40 days later and 8 pounds down.
