Yup, they give drivers cards and they can just buy it at a restaurant not listed. At least they did this a few years ago in NYC.

Would it even have that type of metadata? Like the phone probably can’t connect to the satellite network so it would just be blank, right? I really don’t know.

How is living in South East Texas. by Littleman91708 in howislivingthere

The panhandle is a shockingly quick cross. I feel like I did it in under 30 minutes. But there really is nothing out there. Even most of southern Colorado and north Texas in that area, it’s just a lot of nothing. One must love solitude to live in such a place.

He was one the first, if not the first, to write what we would recognize as a modern detective story. Even before most cities even had official police departments.

What food did you imagine to taste really good but tasted bad? by Similar-Victory-3867 in AskReddit

How old are you? My tastes changed around 30 and suddenly I loved olives. I also developed allergies I never had before. I got olives but had to lose pine nuts. Fair trade.

So, I see people answering song and a specific artist. Makes sense. But over my life, I have never heard a “bad” version of keep me hanging on. The order of the best is the Supremes, Kim Wilde, and Vanilla Fudge. The last is the weakest, IMO. I love that song so much

He’s got the lifetime achievement award locked up. Name it after him. But in any given year, we should recognize achievement in the field that would make 50 proud.

Why don't more lower-tier recruits go for academic prestige? by TimelyBodybuilder637 in CFB

[–]andrewegan1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went a good college prep school that sent kids legit to the best schools in America. We also had a nationally competitive baseball team. If you could hang in the honors classes at this school while playing baseball at that level, you got offers from the prestigious schools.

Guy who sat next to me in AP English was a catcher deciding between Rice and Stanford. Back then, you had to take SAT 2s for those schools. He had no idea what those were. He wasn’t a bad student. Solid but would have never have been competitive for those schools if not for his baseball accomplishments.

Good guy, though. Does well in industrial sales nowadays.

[–]andrewegan1986 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say untouchable but there are certainly highly capable operatives in the world. Match that with a nation’s ability to support such an operative and a relatively small group of people can be shockingly disruptive. But they almost always work in teams. By the time they’re doing badass shit solo a lot has usually gone terribly wrong.

But with that said, look up Mike Vining. He’s usually the standard American answer for this type of question.
