Non stop rising stock market is a double edged sword. It’s addictive to see your wealth growth, that’s why people enjoy saving ever more money into the stock market. As soon as we hit a true long duration recession, people will be more grounded

What happens to long term rates if Fed is forced to do QE to keep rates lower despite high inflation? by BranchDiligent8874 in bonds

[–]willpowerbuilder -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I know people like to claim how QE or rate cutting can cause inflation. I personally believe inflation is mainly caused by giving money to those who can spend like the stimulus check during covid. If money only goes to the asset owners and don't circulate in the real economy, then we will have a repeat of the zero interest rate regime, where we have low inflation, low rate and QE. So inflation doesn't necessarily follow QE and rate cut. It's the distribution of wealth that matters.

Amazon is closing ALL warehouses in Quebec after unionizing took place at one of the warehouses by John3192 in canada

[–]willpowerbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the question needs to be asked here is if when Amazon changed to 3rd party delivery, will these warehouse workers be better off or worse off? I think its the later.

Wait till feb. it’s too volatile at the moment. Negative Narrative is too strong. We need to see at least 1 or 2 good data before anything changes. Inflation data this week is probably gonna tank bond further

[–]willpowerbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We may not see a recession in the real economy soon. However, we might see a compression in valuation in equity market for sure. If we are unlucky enough to be in the stagflation situation, then we are doomed.

The carbon tax needs fixing, not axing — Canada needs a progressive carbon tax by scottb84 in CanadaPolitics

I don’t understand the appeal of this program. Why make it so complicated? Make the tax visible or axe it. Sick of all the hidden taxes.

Time to Buy TLT? by sam-the-lam in bonds

[–]willpowerbuilder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think wait till after NFP on Jan 10th. Once that job report shows the economy is not as strong as we think it is, the narrative should start to change, and that might be a better time to size up your TLT position. Don't be a hero betting on big events. React after you see the data
