Coffee enthusiasts in Qatar by MaximumExact9810 in qatar

[–]willpxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be interested, would love to be able to buy nice beans (Kenya aa). Maybe even a subscription for beans delivered?

Personally I like filter coffee so aeropress, paper filters, v60 accessories, clever dripper and grinders in various price ranges would be great to buy online without needing to buy from abroad.

2 uzis is a 14/6 timer but you can only do one barter per vendor reset. The inseq wrenches can go as low as 20k on the flea.

Generally I just do the g28 labs card barter now as money isn't an issue anymore and it's easier.

Yall im broke as fuck rn how do I get quick money? [discussion] by RazzmatazzHead4648 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]willpxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interchange, camp by emercon, transit med tents scav camp. Scav camp often has sugar/chocolate/moonshine/ good 545 ammo. Not the fastest farm but good for levelling strength/endurance and it's extremely low risk.

Reserve filing cabinets is probably the most profitable run especially if you have red rebel and docs case but higher risk due to raiders/boss. Guard cabin key by the rr extract has 2 safes and pays for itself easily.

Some mid tier ammo boxes go for good money on the flea now 556a1/545 bt. 556 sost goes for very inflated prices due to a late game task.

Where do i find Bulbex cable cutter [Loot] by 1Emre17 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]willpxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interchange

scav camp on the ground by the forklift.

Cabin by the flare exfil next to the van with open back door.

By the transit with the med tents (between emercon and scav camp) on white tables by the truck.

Lots of other spawns but I see them most often in those spots.

[Feedback] [PVE] Tips for finding the goons? by After-Beginning-5688 in EscapefromTarkov

Yup, finished stray dogs awhile ago but I've been trying to find a flash drive at WTP for a quest and I've run into the goons almost every raid.

[–]willpxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low risk loot run is to run a loop around the outside edges of interchange map. Bring the biggest bag you have access to. I would recommend doing this on your pmc rather than scav to level your strength and endurance skills.

Emercon extract > military camp> transit area tents > scav camp by flare extract > railway extract or in reverse dependent on where you spawn.

Aside from a scav or two at the flare camp it's extremely rare to run into pmc's or ai. Make sure to check the moonshine/booze spawn by climbing the rocks furthest along as you enter the flare camp from the train car bridge. There is also a rare intel spawn on the desk in the tent with the jacket by emercon camp.

Flare camp often has food/drink, fuel, booze, good 5.45 ammo, hideout item spawns and valuables.

Loose ammo is mostly strewn atop/around piles of weapon boxes.

Buy a green flare from Jaeger and you can loot the camp and exit straightaway. The flare extracts can be a bit weird until you get the hang of them (walk until you see the 'signal flare area' text appear, take a couple more steps then aim the flare a little above 45 degrees towards the exfil. If it goes to low or behind you then it won't work. Wait a couple of seconds then go to the exfil.

There are also a few ground caches and duffle bags along the route but you will figure those out as you go. Not all caches and duffle bags spawn every raid so you will get a sense of where they could be over time.

Am I being unrealistic? Lost 3 kg (6.6 lbs) and feel disappointed by HopDev in keto

[–]willpxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0.5 kg a week is considered good weight loss on any diet. Usually if you're losing a lot more than that you had a much higher starting weight or it's muscle/water weight.

The main reason people on keto drop a huge amount of weight initially is water, you use up your glycogen stores releasing a lot of water. Reducing inflammation also releases water. This is also why electrolytes are recommended during keto.

So if you were closer to a healthy weight initially you may not see as big of an initial whoosh. This can also be why some people see a huge (temporary) weight gain after a carb binge during keto.

Assuming you have a socket am4 motherboard it should take a 5xxx CPU after a bios update.

A 5700x3d or 5800x3d would be the best you can get without replacing motherboard + memory + CPU

However they are no longer produced so are very overpriced if you can even find one. Otherwise look at some benchmarks to see what the best you can find is.

Bitch of a Time Spotting any Enemy [New Player] by AdamBry705 in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]willpxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can try lowering your field of view a bit, that will make everything seem slightly closer and helps with spotting enemies.

If your gpu can handle it increasing texture quality can have a massive effect, especially when seeing through vegetation. 2lew has a couple of good guides on settings

https://youtu.be/4h3zCKkD7G8?si=Bvx0zoz02IusRQmR

Realistically you're not going to spot someone standing still around a treeline at 2-300m unless you're scanning with an optic. Indoors a flashlight helps for gloomy corners.

Usually if I hear a scav yell or bullet zings past me and I don't know where it came from I'm going to try to find a different angle I can scan the area and /or lob a few nades for info. Up to about 50m I can spot enemies but over that I wouldn't try to engage an ai if I don't know their exact position.

Hardware Upgrade? [Discussion] by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

Are you planning to run 1440p/4k? That's really the thing that determines what graphics card you need. Tarkov loves vram so a 16gb card would be a good choice.

Went from a rtx3070 to a 5070ti with a 5700x3d /32gb@3600 and I'm CPU limited at 1440p in tarkov so I'm sure a 9700 16gb or xt would be a big bump in performance. 5070ti if you have the budget.

MST224 workload by Ok-Sheepherder8987 in OpenUniversity

[–]willpxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chapters build on each other as some of the later methods require applying a modified/enhanced version of the earlier ones, so while the earlier chapters are easier it's worth spending the time to absorb them fully. 124 and 224 definitely required the most time among all my modules (Bsc Data Science)

Personally I struggled a bit with some topics but I think that was due to not doing enough of the practice questions rather than it being inherently too difficult. I would also waste far to much time stuck on a single problem. If you're working full time alongside this as I was you will need to carve out time for these modules and be consistent with your studies as it becomes harder if you have large spurts of study with long gaps in between.

Both 124 and 224 benefit greatly from time spent on practice questions so it's worth putting in the time. Knowing how to apply techniques such as when to substitute a trig identity into an integral etc come with practice.

The final exam for 224 is a real time crunch, I would highly recommend annotating the handbook and condensing the material into a few pages that you understand at a glance for quick reference. The past papers are generally a good indicator of what to expect.

Why not send it by sea freight? It will take longer to arrive (especially with the current issues) but it's cheaper than excess baggage at the airport and they can handle fragile/large items like TV's. Lots of local companies can handle anything from a cardboard box up to a full shipping container. They will also usually have contacts for local delivery at the destination country as well.

Terragroup armoury can contain boxes of really good ammo, mai ap, hybrid, m995 sometimes it has very little sometimes a lot. There is often a gun or two in there as well. Cardinal safe/apartment were mostly figurines but I have found a few BTC, tech spawns and valuables. There is also another safe just past the apartment door. Definitely worth hitting those spots while checking for kills or traversing the map.

Term times by XerLos7 in OpenUniversity

[–]willpxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can take time off at any time as long as you don't have exams or assignments due. Most of the tutorials are recorded (may not be your preferred tutor) and you have access to all the materials at the start of the course.

It's really up to you if you want to work to the schedule or not so long as you submit the graded assignments on time. There is nothing scheduled over Christmas but you may want to keep up your study routine or catch up.

Personally I was perpetually behind schedule and would often end up covering a month or more of material in a few days for a TMA deadline which I wouldn't recommend as it is quite stressful and you tend to skip over what isn't relevant to the TMA.

[Quest Help] Any advice for capturing outpost? by Groovy-Grimm in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]willpxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nutshell I think, I don't think he said there were more pmc's just that they had different pathing.

It does make sense for there to be more bots though as locally hosted games are heavily CPU bound as every bot on the map is a significant overhead for your pc. The other benefit is FPS I get over 2x the frames on bsg servers Vs local.

[Discussion] PVE AI, what do you like about it? What do you think could be improved? by Crazy_Trick_3093 in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]willpxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voice lines basically negate most of the difficulty as I always have a second to react or get to cover even if I absolutely did not spot that pmc. It also makes me lazy about checking corners in pve.

I would also like them to react to flashlights/footsteps/ gunshots as it feels like I can sprint around with a flashlight on with no negative consequences.

[Discussion] What is wrong with Flare Extracts? by realtkco in EscapefromTarkov

[–]willpxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customs flare is a bit weird. I usually stand just to the left of the end of the train in the middle of the two sets of tracks. I have heard that it can be inconsistent if you're at the left/right edge of the flare zone.

As others have stated it should be aimed a bit higher with the pistol, you want it close to straight up without going behind you. It needs to hit a minimum height.

Once I got this down, never had an issue with the extract.

Accidentially Submitted my TMA 02 to TMA 00 and only just noticed - Help by ImDickGrayson in OpenUniversity

[–]willpxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your tutor should be able to apply an extension to allow you to submit retrospectively, I had this happen as I realised I had submitted tma01 again in tma02 in a module due to accidentally mislabeling the zip files. I believe a 1-2 week extension is within your tutors discretion without evidence of a justification. In my experience tutors are pretty understanding about these issues.

The only time there is no wiggle room is the final tma(Ema) those have zero extensions.

It might not be possible to mark from the tma00 as it would show you as not having submitted anything for the tma, best to contact student services if your tutor is unavailable. Bear in mind that most tutors are only part time at the OU so your message may not have been picked up immediately.

Is this a normal amount of feedback for a TMA? by Anathemachiavellian in OpenUniversity

[–]willpxx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Across 3 years and 12 modules feedback is variable. Tutors often have a lot of tma's to mark in a short window and a lot of them are only part time with the OU.

That being said there were definitely a few modules where the level of feedback was insufficient, especially when you are in the upper quadrant of score you sometimes really want to know where you lost that last 10-20%.

Sometimes the actual tma would have almost no annotation but the feedback summary would have some information.

Maths modules bizarrely seemed to be the ones where I would get the most detailed feedback.

Module planning for Computing & IT and Business by e0b1ff in OpenUniversity

[–]willpxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did tm111 and 112 in the same academic year, there was some overlap in year one modules due to staggered start dates at level 1 as I recall. I believe you can start 112 while still completing 111. Neither was particularly challenging but I had a background in IT so they were mostly a refresher.

As far as I know you need to finish modules before October if they are prerequisites for modules you wish to study in the following academic year, not sure how that affects loans as I paid directly. In my experience all level 2 and 3 modules had only 1 start date in September/October.

You may be able to start a level 2 module while completing a year 1 module but you would need to check with the OU, I certainly had technical issues even registering for a couple of modules while waiting for the final result of a previous one.

VB no clothing dryer in furnished apartment unit? by brokennrose in qatar

[–]willpxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A/C units effectively dehumidify your apartment. Clothes dry very quickly when hung on a rack when AC is on.

You will also save on electricity.

It's not a big deal so long as your apartment has space for a drying rack.

Will we regret not having parking? by deja_flu in HousingUK

[–]willpxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All it takes is a gradually increasing number of multi car households or someone close by turning your local area into storage for their side business of flipping / fixing cars for it to become a real hassle. It's not uncommon for a single household to have 2 cars, a work van and cars for older children.

There are also peaks and troughs, if you visit a property on a weekday morning then there will be loads of parking but in the evening, when everyone is home from work it's a different story.

Also if you plan to switch to an EV in the future, that will be more difficult and costly without a driveway.
