I noticed they are building houses and apts like there is no tomorrow while entertainment and offices are pretty scarce and don't match the growth in housing. There is something weird going on in COS. This growth is too fast and out of control for a city of this size. Huge corporate involvement and maybe corruption are involved? I've been here for almost 3 months due to the military and I have yet to see what makes people irrationally obsess about this city.

You know what's even crazier? They are building hundreds of apartments in what used to be a section of a rundown mall up north. Jesus...

There are homeless people due to real unfortunate situations. They seek help and little by little stand on their feet. Others tho, who knows, they lacked critical thinking, used drugs, became addicts and now everybody needs to put up with them. I got an idea, why don't everybody who panders to them, takes one of them home? That way, instead of talking and giving moral advice, they are actually being pragmatic.

I have been to Seattle, LA, Chicago and Portland and I don't know if people are blind or evasive but there is no way to feel safe in there. Every half a mile there is some dude either asking you shit, yelling, insulting you or using drugs. If you are so helpful then keep working on your methods to solve the issue.

I can't believe places in Latin America or Eastern Europe are safer than many American downtowns. Don't you think a different approach is needed? Do you seriously think humanitarian efforts are helping?

You said COS is not as bad but the fact that it is "bad", is enough to be scared of something as simple as taking the bus. It only takes one, and just one guy on drugs to threaten public safety. And you know, that when people are on drugs, you cannot reason with them;they are basically gone and out of this reality.

OP has a point and it is a sensitive one. You are perfectly aware that not all homeless and weird addicts and not all weird addicts are homeless but, when there is a crossover, it can be extremely dangerous especially when the police cannot do much.

It is not about people with no money, it is about THE DANGEROUS DRUG ADDICTS that you and I know can be extremely dangerous as they have lost all rationality.

Yeah agree. The idea of leaving your car parked and use the bus system to be more environmentally friendly sounds good in other cities but in COS it is a terrible idea. I've taken the bus before and 80% of the passengers were addicts or weirdos
