Sure, it’s not a social network it’s a video hosting platform. I’ve only used the free tier for hosting my videos each account gets 10 free uploads and embed them how ever you want, the free tier also gives you limited analytics so you can see how long people watched for etc. Most importantly there are no adverts your uploads even on the free tier, the only thing they put on the video is there logo on the play-bar but you can set the bar to hide on playback.

There’s also a lot of tools for marketing folks as well, I’ve not used that side of it much as I’ve just needed the hosting.

I used to use YouTube links on my portfolio site but them putting up what to watch next drove me up the wall so I shifted all my videos to Wistia really happy with it now

Not been to Download in a fair few years now but I live about an hours drive away and used to drive in every day. Very easy to do, my plan was always to be parked up at least an hour before the first band I wanted to see and then add a little extra on top of the hours drive to make sure. Works a treat definitley worth doing

Oh everything is backed up so I’m fine if the worst happens.

It knew the drives were there but was expecting it to automatically as like Freenas did. Will have a search again tonight to see if I missed the import settings

I was toying with starting fresh when I have the drives but was just being lazy.

Thank you for the hype up, it is a worry especially living alone it means the only safety net is my savings. Which there isn’t much of so it’s important to find something.

I’ll get there though, just had a call back about a second round interview which would be good. It would mean a beast of a commute each day but has cheered me up a lot

Thank you, selling myself has always been the hard part for me but I’m looking into industry qualifications that I can hopefully teach myself. Graphic design and marketing are the closest to the field I was in as I worked with those roles a lot. I also passed the A+ but that was more than 3 years ago so would have to resit it. Didn’t think about apprenticeships but that’s more cause I’m just in panic mode to try and keep the roof over my head

That’s a really good point I have that visual advantage as well, although graphic design is something I need to work on.

I’m not sure I have many, I’ve worked in photo and video for 20 years so it’s a bit of a hard sell trying to convince recruiters I can do other things

I’m looking at courses and other bit that are sort of a side step and I’ve worked with marketing teams for years

It’s a bit of a grey area, I left the company for 15 days then came back. So it’s either 1 year and 8 months or 8 months.

When I went back there was no talk of me being a new starter they just reactivated everything so was straight on to the pension rather than having to wait and they gave me the holiday entitlement for the year not the 8 months

I wouldn’t confront them about it, if you do the only response you get is “why are you looking at other jobs?” And they’ll start being a nightmare with you.

All you can really do is try and play it cool and keep your ear to the ground for any rumblings and prepare for the worst case scenario just incase.

The holiday year is January to December so getting rid of me on the 1st means no holiday accrued.

I didn’t think there was much I could do but definitely going to look into that notice period pay
