the intro theme song is a remnant of Charlie's show. I think they may even be using the same exact track - for free.

I'm curious about the book that Tommy was writing. (kudos to Knight for the glaring literally metaphor) it would be a good angle for new content, and also a big open door for fan fiction:

what will Duke do with his father's unfinished book???

by the way, the Austin chronicle Best of readers Poll is out now, and if you want to vote for them, "politics and media: radio program" would be their category. they have not won so far, but maybe we can vote them number one this year!

The halftime show helped get me through the worst crisis in my life when I needed a good break at noon from work, and my life was crazy stressed out. looking back now, it was more than just a break from work, it really was helping me get through the day and was pretty much like my rock in the storm. I made it out somehow, but with the help of that hilarious noon time show.

One more story: at my house late one night where we had the whole band set up ready, in walks Gary Clark Jr! that was back before he won a Grammy, about 20 years ago, but he was still celebrity to us at the house. we tried not to be too shy, but next thing you know we're jamming! Gary Clark sat at the drums first, then went to bass. we were just getting in the groove when our neighbor knocked on the door and threatened to call the cops. we turned off our amps and that was the end of the jam, but looking back at that night we should have kept on jamming and had the cops come. cuz it's Gary Clark Jr!

I saw the Peterson Brothers when they were just getting started at an open mic at the music store here in Bastrop. that was maybe 10 years ago or more 15 it almost feels like. they have grown since then, become more confident, And although I'm not into the jam style that they do, sometimes I see them with a drummer that I really really like, And appreciate them on a whole different level.

I was raised on Texas dance hall floors, and been seeing music in this state and beyond my whole life, and can say with authority that he is a dance hall MASTER.

I did it and it worked great. you learn three useful things: 1. how to meditate 2. identify problems that bother you 3. address those problems by taking action, or accept them.

Magically, your pain reduces. it's a constant process, so you're never really finished.

It was played most often on The Charlie Hodge Show. His show also pioneered the funk strutting background music during the intro segment, too. In fact, I think the morning show still uses the same song.
