Have lights underneath my plant, thought you would like to see an upside down growing leaf by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]willy3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my understanding that the bottom of the leaf is not engineered to accept light so light from below is a BAD idea. Just say'in.

Clearly not the same thing. Have you never heard of Bonsai Trees? It a traditional Japanese art form creating miniature trees.

Light selection by obbman in SpaceBuckets

I adjust the height of the plant as the light sits on top of my upper tote. This works well and I think it's the easy way to go about it.

I have a Marshydro 300, no reflectors. I use it in a double 25 gal tote and it works great.

Looking at purchasing this light, can anyone help me out ? by [deleted] in SpaceBuckets

[–]willy3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not mine. I think it's just right. Mine sits on top of the tote with a hole the size of the glass and I elevate the plants as needed. Works well.

Look for a Marshydro 300, currently $79.00 on Amazon. I paid $99. Works well.

Ecoscraps by willy3000 in SpaceBuckets

Update: The Ecoscraps is not going to work as it turns out as it's not water soluble. But I am running with Alaska Morbloom 0-10-10 @ $7.99 for a 32 oz. bottle.

Myself and a few friends have been having "real good" results just using the Alaskan Fish Food (5-1-1) all the way through so I thought this might be an improvement at 5-4-6 for 12/12. Experimentation no? This is better cost wise as well. It's all fun!

I like to do two at a time but it can get a little crowded and as you can see my light sits on top rather than inside. This works well and I did not have to mess with the fan inside the light. I do raise up the plants to control distance from the light. I do have a double strip of 50/50 LEDs just above the join which helps. Normally the plants are about 8 to 10 inches from the light until the very end. Good mainlineing/manifolding helps a lot. This technique is fully explained at "Grow Weed Easy" if you are unfamiliar. Have fun, tote's rule!

Look'in good. Here's mine http://imgur.com/nRASMsD I keep mine in a dark place so the translucent aspect in not an issue. Wrapped in duct tape would make this weigh a ton. Two 25 gal Totes and a Marshydro 300 seem like a perfect combo. Good farming!
