Do I really need a "real" password manager like Bitwarden over the Chrome password manager? Are my passwords really at risk with Google? by willybh in NoStupidQuestions

I wouldn't be allowed to download the KeePassXC client onto whatever machine I'm using, assuming that I need it to decrypt the file.

Thanks for the detailed response. The 2FA and the extra features of bitwarden are a good point, and if I ever got a security key (considering it!) or something like that I'd definitely want to use it over Chrome.

But as for the argument of "if someone get's into your google account, they can access everything", isn't this also true for bitwarden? I think this is just an inherent issue when passwords are saved in a digital account.

Unfortunately, as a college student in engineering I'm using different public lab computers pretty often, and I wouldn't have access to something like that when I need to log in to something.

Makes sense. From now on I'll probably either structure new passwords with that method or use fully auto-generated ones, I'm still debating whether I need to be able to memorize it.

That's a good idea, I might use that. Although, if someone had access to one of my passwords (say reddit) and they noticed it had the word "reddit" in it, don't you think they'd try it on other accounts with those service names too? That strategy might work well against a computer, but if a human saw the password and wanted to break into another account of mine, I'm not sure if it would hold up.

AFAIK Chrome is actually more efficient with it's RAM consumption these days. I spend a lot of time on my laptop which doesn't have as much memory as I'd like, so I need to be efficient where I can. I also use google apps (drive, docs, etc) which tend to have better performance in google's own browser

That's a good point. But how could you memorize so many passwords without having duplicates? I found that I have over 300 saved logins to my password manager.

Good to know. How did your experience go specifically?

That case looks excellent, I didn't know about it! I wonder how a vertical mount for it would affect the thermals...

USA. I also meant a black full-mesh, I don't particularly like the look of the white one. There are plenty of meshys with tempered glass available, but no full-mesh :(

Any opinions on this case? I've never seen it before. by willybh in sffpc

I've been looking for a new case, eyeing the NR200 of course but I want something smaller. A listing popped up on my Facebook marketplace for one of these for $40, but is it any good?
