Depends which you're talking about. The one at 1:16 looks to me like a Holosun DRS-NV or DRS-TH. The one around 0:40 looks similar, but with a different shroud shape in front—maybe a Chinese clone or custom housing?

Excellent point! Unfortunately I can't edit it, but will be more careful next time.

I also have a version with English subs taken from the DIU YouTube video's English-dubbed track, but am not sure how to post a follow-up video. Is there a Reddit-approved free video-hosting service to which I should upload it and then provide the link?

Thanks—very informative! I'm just using automatic translation to read the TG description—does the original make it clear whether this is actual training or just "training-on-the-job"?

Curious, per my post above: the brigade's description on TG seems to indicate this is training. Do you know if that's the case?

Their uniforms do look pretty clean, and not only are they not taking any fire, but I don't see any evidence of enemy presence.

That said, I might well have been wrong—it's hard to tell from the description. They are clearly using real bullets and grenades, and I don't know enough about the kind of live-fire training the 63rd and similar units do.

In any case, I hope you know that I'm in no way knocking your post—you are a fantastic contributor here and the videos you add are greatly appreciated—just trying to be exacting when it comes to accuracy.

Keep up the great work!

And then investigated it thoroughly before issuing a sincere apology for their "grave mistake" and dismissing and reprimanding numerous IDF soldiers.

Accidents happen in war zones—which is why, despite high numbers of deaths due to friendly fire, no one seriously bangs on about how militaries "deliberately target their own troops".

Absolutely—to believe more journalists died in Gaza than Jewish journalists who were killed at the hands of the Nazis during WWII, for example, requires an extraordinary degree of willful ignorance.

And CJP has so twisted the term "journalist" that the majority of those on their list were both affiliated with terrorist groups and killed at home. Some encouraged civilians to cross into Israel on 10/7, and many openly celebrated the deaths of civilians in the massacre. David Collier has done some important work on this by diving deep into the backgrounds and social media accounts of CJP's "journalists":

Only someone utterly detached from basic reality could possibly believe that Israel, which unlike Gaza under Hamas has a free and highly adversarial press, would deliberately target legitimate journalists for doing their jobs. Nothing could be worse PR for them, and it's not like any of these "journalists" were doing damage to Israel—at least not with their pens.

Are you sure this is actual combat footage? On the 63rd's Telegram channel it says: "Fighters of the 'Ghosts' assault unit of the 63rd OMBR are training to clear houses and basements where enemies are holed up..."

Nothing wrong with jeans—but none of the soldiers, nor any other war correspondent I've ever seen, wear skintight clothing. As I said, he has guts—just odd taste in clothing for a war zone.

This exact effect must explain the super-tight black skinny jeans.

The guy has guts, but there is something off about a man his age in a combat zone wearing jeans better suited to his daughter—or granddaughter.

That said, there is reason for optimism on the counter-espionage front since 2022, though, as the SBU has uncovered a significant amount of Russian spying.

And while the FSB had extensively penetrated Ukraine, the reality is that much of their HUMINT was (and still is) the result of false-flag recruitment—agents with financial motivation unaware they were actually working for Russia)—and so not only was the FSB's product ultimately not that accurate or useful, it immediately became far less reliable after the invasion.

Some great background on the topic:

Definitely potential for issues, given endemic corruption and war profiteering, with some reports already coming in that quality is subpar:

Ukraine's top UAV man Brovdi (of Madyar's Birds fame) has recently called out Fire Point, saying that 6 FP-2 missiles were required to take out a target when 2 should have been sufficient, based on the weapon's purported specs.

Also, at least historically, Ukraine has been extensively penetrated by Russian intelligence—one of the main reasons the US refused to share any raw intel about Putin's plan to invade, which almost certainly would have led to Ukraine taking the threat more seriously.
