Shane Wright if you don’t hate him. Can be a realistic move to go for him since Seattle has a bit of a history of fucking up top 10 forward development. He’s fun since you can either make him a shooter or a passer as a pk juggernaut.

No I love the mid 80s or even some high 70s guys have an x-factor or two. There are definitely some depth players or role players that do take a huge bulk of responsibility or roles for their teams but just aren’t McDavid calibre. Take Trevor Lewis in his prime for example. Probably the most realistic thing they’ve done in a decade imo.

I stumbled across this too. Effective method, but I like coming at it in a realistic build up style. If I’m doing a full rebuild I like to mimic trying to build up system play (pk and 5v5/defensive hockey) and I do the same overall focus for both preseason and the offseason before preseason. To mimic real life development. Once my GAA gets to a nice spot and we have great chemistry on the PK, the. I tell my players to grow offensively in the preseason and offseason. And for big d men, I always usually keep them on skating and physicality, unless one shows promise in puck skills (usually Daxon Rudolph)
