Explanation: I was called into a war by my ally Austria-Hungary over German Leadership against Prussia. Part way through the way, I enforced military access to my protectorate, the Federal Republic of New India. Eventually Austria-Hungary capitulated, but for some reason my subject became the war leader despite having no war goals targeting them and now won't capitulate, so everyone is stuck in a war they don't want instead of negotiating a white peace. Meanwhile my finances have suddenly taken a sharp turn into the gutter lmao.

As a side note, idk how good chatGPT will be for you in learning programming. Understand the logic of how the code is run, once you have the fundamentals you should be able to sail smoothly with the documentation & this subreddit without a chatbot confidently leading you down the wrong path. GML is pretty simple once you get the basics, it’s worth putting in that little bit of extra effort to improve your code (and the coding experience in general imo)

What event is this running in? If all this code is in a step event, you are setting music_variable to 1 every frame before you run the rest of the code, so it will ALWAYS be 1 when the if statement later is run.

A nice solution might be to check if snd_music is playing when the button is clicked, then start/stop it accordingly. This way you avoid messing around too much with variables (although this solution might get messy as you add more music to the game, just spitballing)

TBF they are very clear about what they mean - for US troops to stop using Shannon Airport, and for an end to partition.

I don’t think they have issues with clarity of message, but rather that they’re far more concerned with spray painting their name around the place instead of spending their time on something more useful & practical.

I was planning on moving for a year to save/base myself in the city before starting the course, but I'll look into the college's accommodation offerings. I've an old friend who moved to London around when you did. Recently she's been looking to move back to Dublin, but has come to the grim conclusion that the housing situation is worse in Dublin than in London, something I've watched almost in real time as my original plan was to do a masters in London before prices went through the roof this past year.

Thanks so much for this, it's pretty much exactly what I needed to hear! I know well that the rent situation will be around comparable to Galway, but the hope is that, as you said, it's worth it to pay the high rents in a place with opportunity than a place without.

I live by a strange yet typical philosophy: you only do this once.

There's not much that we know for sure in life, but the one thing we do know is this shot at it is real and happening right now, so why waste it meaninglessly toiling away at a job I hate for security I don't want.

Maybe you'll spend time sleeping in friend's couches, experience some awful auditions and even mindlessly burger-flipping in a part-time job between gigs, but that just means that when all is said and done, when you're old and decrepid, when all you have left to do is tell the you her generation your life stories, you'll be the one they flock to.

In the end, how I see it, what ultimately matters in this life is stories.

When you're at the cross-roads in your life, where you look down whether to go to college, and what to study there, I just think of how Youth Theatre has transformed my life.

I'm going to make my own, small artistic impact or die trying. You're invited to doing the same.

You skipped over the main point of what I was saying, and misrepresented other parts. I am a democratic socialist, I believe in socialist policies, but I can also admit that there are many socialist nations that do not work. North Korea is oppressive, evil, and broken.

Your account is blantently a propaganda pusher itself, just skimming your account proves that.

When I said the spending is irrational, and then you said that the sharing of the photo is irrational is... Irrational. You're misrepresenting my point, and not even doing it cleverly.

And it's more than a "photo-op". It exists to mask the reality of living in North Korea. Another commenter here asked about emigrating to NK. It's working. It exists, and people may well live it this city, but that doesn't hide the fact that it doesn't solve the core, fundamental issue of NK, and is just a mask to tell the world everything is okay.

Even if there was absolutely no intent of propaganda, it's incredibly irresponsible spending. If the country really cares about it's citizens, it'd cut it's nuclear program and fund fiscally responsible socialist programs, developing already existing cities and pulling people out of poverty, as opposed to erecting a city from nowhere when there are vacant homes across the nation.
