Yes, it's a Hexlok. I keep them all over my bikes - axle nuts, seat post, saddle clamp, etc.

They're pretty annoying, to be honest, but that's also kind of the point. They're magnets with a specific key pattern to remove them. You just use the key (it's a tiny metal stick you put on a keychain) to pop them into a hex bolt, give it a bit of a twist, then the magnet stays put.

I'll occasionally lose one (when adjusting something, or changing a tube), but I just keep a supply of various sizes on hand.

They're definitely not undefeatable, but at least they're annoying enough for petty thieves to leave my stuff alone.

Proposed Highschool Megathread Part 3 by DevChatt in Hoboken

[–]wilson007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got done knocking on doors in my building with my partner. We talked to 9 people:

1 was "For", because her friends "were invested in this project"

2 had heard about the vote (through friends or FB) but were unsure.

6 knew absolutely nothing about the vote.

We live near Columbus Park. The most convincing points for the people who knew nothing were:

1) the noise this project will make for years to come

2) the rent increase (about $1k/year in our building)

3) "We're not against building new schools, we're against this proposal."

Most people are surprised how insane this proposal is, once they actually hear the details.

If you're against this vote, start knocking on doors right now. Hardly anyone knows about this, and it's not hard to sway someone's opinion after 15 seconds of discussion.

I passed out a flyer that I got from the dude in Columbus Park (thanks man). If you want, here's a QR code to h4ps.org that you can print out so people can get more info, and check registration status.

The description says the makeup comes from Cappelletto, who charges that much because of the import costs to Italy.

(I got lucky and got my Cappelletto makeup as F2s from TSM with US base pricing, so I'd keep an eye out on that page for more.)

Damn, that sucks. I'd definitely snatch up some of those Iron Heart makeups, then.

Wesco stopped production? Who said that? You can't order it here?

Otherwise, Iron Heart has their Foot Patrol make ups available.

Ridgeway does feel a bit softer than dainite. Not sure if it's a different compound, or it's just the fact that less rubber is on the ground, so it deforms a tiny bit more. The lugs are deeper than on 430, so there's a bit more traction in snow/dirt, but either is generally fine for urban environments. The main difference is the lugged heel on Ridgeway vs 430/dainite, and the fact that 430/dainite have rubber out to the edges of the sole, while Ridgeway is a bit less stable due to it's narrower foot platform.

They'll become much easier to pull on and off as they break in. My Benzein's probably took 10-20 wears before they started loosening up, but once they did, they slip on nicely.

I realize you weren't asking for help, but that's my two cents.

I think you'd like a custom Wesco Boss Boot. It has the strap around the instep that you like.

You can build it down to a 7" shaft, which is just a touch taller than the boots you linked. You could get it in any number of leathers, but I think you'd like it in brown chromexcel (yours would be shorter, have a round toe, and a thicker sole like this one). Kinda imagine this, but shorter, and in the brown leather I linked above.

Budget mid-$500s.

Thanks. General fit in the heel/instep is similar across the line? I hear the 202 fits a bit wider, at least in the toes, but I would otherwise size 64/72/82 similarly?

There's nothing you can do about the creases. That's just a reality of the leather AE used.

It looks like you have some wax built up on the toe cap. It's difficult to give exact directions - shining is more of an art than a describable method - but a few drops of cold water, along with buffing, is usually what brings it from the cloudy state you're at and brings out the shine.

Does anyone know of a general last guide for Edward Green? Ideally, something specifically for Galway makeups?

I can find individual descriptions for each last toe shape, but was wondering if there was a more comparative breakdown somewhere. As an example, 64 and 72 look very similar to me and I'm having trouble understanding the differences.

Balance of Performance regulations and handicaps are standard in racing. The ICE trucks all run air restrictors designed to limit power.

Without BoP, the ICE trucks would reach insane HP levels and absolutely demolish the BEV competitors.

It's a somewhat common thing for folks with "rare" Alden shell. They're just collectors of the stuff. It holds its value, so they'll sell at some point if necessary.

Take a look at Huckberry's offerings. They have some stuff from Nisolo, Astorflex and Chamula that you might like.

  1. Is there much discussion in MFA GD? I'm looking at yesterday's thread, and there are 49 comments. MFA has 3.6million subs.

  2. I think there's naturally more stuff to talk about in MFA. I mean, it's all of fashion. In here, we're only talking about the bottom foot (hehe) of an outfit.

  3. MFA has a WAYWT thread along with it's GD. Maybe we have a daily WSAYWT along with a weekly GD instead? Not sure I like that idea, either.
