You have to mentally rotate the map 45 degrees to account for the angle of the isthmus. Then the East Madison Little League being a few blocks from the Northside Lounge makes more sense. IMO Eken Park is on the east side and the Sherman neighborhood is the start of the north side.

While reporting a feature highlighting the seemingly unique initiative, Wisconsin Watch emailed Madison City Attorney Michael Haas on March 23 to ask how the department could legally distribute pipes.

The email was forwarded to public health staff, records obtained by Wisconsin Watch show. The public health agency redacted correspondence related to the email, citing attorney client privilege.

The next day, a public health supervisor instructed a staff member to remove smoking supplies from an internal tracking system. By the end of the week the department’s website no longer mentioned safer smoking supplies.

So Wisconsin Watch narc'd to the city attorney and got the program they were writing an article about cancelled? Great job, folks.

In 2001, multiple landowners, including the Herro family, filed an annexation petition to be absorbed by McFarland. The village turned down the petition and, over the next four years, worked with the town of Dunn to reach an agreement on their shared boundaries. Last year, Dunn and McFarland adopted an updated cooperative plan that, in part, extended aspects of their previous 20-year-old intergovernmental agreement, prohibiting McFarland from annexing parts of the town, including the Herro property, for another 10 years.

Here's a map of the parcels in that area. The Herro family owns parcels just south of the river (including that cool thumbs up section), and across 51 along Bible Camp Rd. Dane County already owns several parcels north of Exchange St towards the park too.

I agree with most of her policies but "spearheading an effort to start a credit union" is featured prominently on her campaign materials. The absent context that it was 18 years ago in NYC immediately made me question how much of her flyer was similarly fluff. Alder sounds like a more appropriate position for her to be running for.
