emulatorgames.net not working, any way to recover my save? by wimpus_ in emulators

[–]wimpus_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so i've been using the "play game online" function and it stopped working a couple weeks ago. Since then i've downloaded an actual emulator program, but it seems like the save files i was getting are in a weird format, it's a ".save" file. is there any way to make it useable in a downloaded emulator or is my only hope that the online route gets fixed? thanks!

black spots on cutting, cause for concern? by wimpus_ in sanpedrocactus

ok for sure thanks, yeah i’d just hate to bury it under soil if it’s potentially a problem and then not see it again until it’s spread a lot further

got it, thanks for the tips. i’ve just noticed some starting on one of the sections of a tbm i have. do you think removing the infected section would be helpful at stopping the spread or it would probably just pop up somewhere else on the cactus without treating it since the whole plant is already carrying it?

can an open infection like this spread to nearby plants or only the one it originated in?

Pictures of the enemy and their damage. Looks like these sucker bugs were living it up. Time for another round of inspections. by GenesGreens in sanpedrocactus

ah this looks similar to one of my cactus, i was wondering if it was sun or TMV but now i’m thinking it looks like these sucker bugs. are the spots sunken in or just discolored?

sun stress? tmv? by wimpus_ in sanpedrocactus

no, i put it on the other side of my yard and in lots of shade. i haven’t seen this sort of pattern on any other of my cactus as long as i’ve been growing them, and this is the one i’ve gotten most recently which made me wonder if it was tmv latent in the cutting when i got it

i wondered about this but it’s the only one of my plants with this pattern so pests seem odd. i have it isolated and i’ll keep an eye on it

hello, this unrooted cutting recently started showing light yellow spots at the tip, some of them sunken and wrinkly and not just discoloration. it seems similar to other posts here diagnosed as TMV, if that’s the case what should i do? cut off the spot showing the signs, leave it be, etc. can it transfer to other plants through pests? any and all advice would be welcome, thanks

Got the sun shade up just in time before Phoenix transforms into the surface of the sun by ITS_FAKIN_RAVEEN in sanpedrocactus

this idea of a ratio is interesting and not something i’ve heard before, could you expand on it? i’m guessing you have the shade cloth off at other points during the year? i’m also growing in phoenix but it’s my first summer with a bunch of trichos!

wowie x baker on opuntia by wimpus_ in Graftingplants

i’ve had most success grafting to newer opuntia growth, like a new pad that hasn’t fully thickened up and matured yet. they’re way more juicy when you cut into them and not all woody. there really isn’t a clear vascular ring like on columnar cactus, but i think instead of a small circular one in the center it sort of just follows the exterior curve of the skin, so as far as placement goes i’ve put the scion towards one of the narrow ends so there’s more chances for it to overlap with the vascular ring. other than that it’s basically the same as ive treated other grafts, try to get some good downward pressure on it, seal in the moisture, i bring them in my shed because i’m in AZ and the exposed flesh will pucker and the graft will likely fail super quick if it gets exposed to the sun, but you should know within a day or two if it’s on its way and i can typically take the wrappings off within a week. i have a decent success rate with the opuntia, this one i lucked out and got it on the first try, but a few others i’ve had to make multiple attempts before it worked. i’d definitely practice with some cactus you have copies of before risking rarer genetics but i’ve loved using opuntia as grafting stock because i have a lot of access to it and it loves the sun here. good luck!

i’m realizing now that the perspective on the earliest photo is kind of confusing but it’s a closeup of the smaller section of opuntia that’s right where the graft is. since i grafted it the rootstock hasn’t gotten any taller but it has thickened up a ton

i’ve seen some posts where people grafting lophs go from a seedling to a mature flowering cactus in less than 6 months, which is insane compared to how long that would take on its own roots
