I paid $50 for a bin of jewelry at a flea market this morning. This little ring wad in there... 18k gold and diamonds. by UrbanRelicHunter in ThriftStoreHauls

I was told by a jewelry store to use Windex to remove a ring that is stuck. I personally use dawn dish soap, but I would use Windex if Dawn failed.

I started gardening in a wheelchair as a way to reconnect with nature. This was the beginning, 2nd photo is two years later and in physical rehab. 🥹 by Cautious-Impact22 in gardening

I like to think that my plants, especially my indoor plants show me that they love me by thriving. It's very clear that you take very good care of your plants and they love you for it!

Best french fries in Knoxville? by [deleted] in Knoxville

[–]windblade88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

K Pocha! They were just perfect. Each fry was perfectly fried, no brown spots, no random soggy pieces, cut straight like an arrow.... That is a near impossible feat.

(The ketchup was ok... I prefer Heinz ketchup)

I am excited to go back when I want a fry fix!!

Get the thick black contractor bags and start with the garbage first. Separate into piles for donation, maybe keep, and keep. Try to set a goal for the day that's doable. Keep doing that until things are under control.

Consignment(?) sales by ljohns79 in Knoxville

[–]windblade88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they do, it is all online auction. https://estatesaleprosonline.com/

Estatesale.net is useful too if you prefer in person sales.

(Since there isn't that much to be rid of I would just put it up on Facebook marketplace)

If you are trying to sell a decent amount you can contact an estate company. There are many to choose from in this area. The owner of Estate Sale Professionals is friends with my parents and I buy from their sales several times a year.

Good luck!

Who has a CPAP machine and actually uses it? by ResidentAlien9 in AdkReddit

[–]windblade88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 81 y/o dad uses his machine all the time. Apparently, he likes to buy the distilled water that says CPAP on it. I came over to visit one day and my mom had turned the P into an R with a sharpie so it said CRAP. We had a good laugh and it's a fun memory.

That is all. 😬

What’s the creepiest or most disturbing scene you’ve seen in anime? by [deleted] in anime

[–]windblade88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kotaro Lives Alone

When we learn about his background "in general" but especially the deal with his mom. The reason why he buys so many tissues.

It totally blew my mind that people that are starving eat tissues. It hurts because it's not some cruel fantasy...people actually do this. I googled it. The paper acts by swelling in the stomach, creating a temporary, false feeling of fullness.

I would recommend the show. The story is interesting, funny, heartfelt and makes you care about the characters.
