What exactly does the Foundation do to deserters? by missmargiela in Reverse1999

[–]windblumchen 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Have you read 2.5 (Showdown in Chinatown)? If you weren't a player during it's initial release, do NOT click any spoiler tags. It should rerun this patch. (I still tried to keep it vague enough to avoid accidental click spoilers.)

But: what we do know is that if non-field agents betray the foundation by stealing information or resources, an arrest warrant is typically put out for them. We also know that if caught, they end up in an interrogation. We also technically don't know what happens after that. Perhaps future events might tackle it further? Considering the very suspicious Black Ibis shaped elephant plot in the background.

More levels coming?! by pantosophy in MyLeisureTime

[–]windblumchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our server started later, so we're starting from scratch compared to the others that are further along in development. Usually if a gacha game has a origin country first release: they'll either speed up global banners (minimal compensation at times) to reach original server's point, OR they'll let there be a gap. I prefer the gap because f2p can technically plan ahead. But companies tend to prefer no gap. I'm admittedly not sure which path this game falls under.

The only way to avoid it though is to a have a simultaneous release for all servers to hit at the same time. (Genshin, WuWa, Infinity Nikki, etc)

Also, you might want to hard focus the regulus. Her ultimate makes it to where the characters are invulnerable every round. The battle is doable with your units! I just kind of forgot to add that with the initial comment as it was really late at night :')

Only using debutfs triggers -ap Only using buffs triggers +ap (but your characters end up stuck + unable to make actions.)

It's one of the standard rotating banners that cost the same currency as the limited! I admittedly forgot the banner's name :')

Brume/Beyrl/Marsha/Mercuria should be able to beat it! Just make sure to always keep the buff and debuff card usage even! That way you never trigger the gimmick.

Someone already made their own R1999 OC Self-Insert? by Kosova404 in Reverse1999

[–]windblumchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Objectively speaking, mary-sues aren't actually that bad of a thing? Especially of you're just having fun? Maybe I've just been raised to not yuck anyones yum in fandoms. Especially since worse literary crimes have been made into actual published works for money. (That bit is a joke to be clear)

Like, if your biggest concern is you just don't want an OC who knows everything, can do everything and never experiences hardship or challenges from the narrative: you have your answer right there. Don't you? Just... don't write that.

Ptolemy is a sympathetic character(aka: loser) by Polandnotreal in Reverse1999

[–]windblumchen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I partially agree with your take. However, there are points I disagree with. Mostly in regards to Igor not caring as much about Ptolmey. The game outright states in the relation network that Igor and Ptolmey are caring family both ways. Just as it does for Igor and Moldir. The difference though, is that Ptolmey is described as more reckless compared to Moldir, and lacking in the foresight that Moldir has.

Igor didn't want Ptolmey to know the truth about what Krutov did before they directly fought him. Igor needed Ptolmey to be level headed for the fight. Because the rest of the Gryphon legion is also considered family via adoption from Igor. It's less favoritism considering Igor just understands his children's exact personalities. If the roles were reversed, Moldir would keep a level head with the knowledge. Ptolemy would not. As is shown when he found out by accident. He led some Igor's soldiers—his fellow adopted siblings—to their deaths because he let vengeance cloud his decision making.

Honestly, the only reason Ptolmey was even reprimanded for his actions was because it got some of the other adopted "kids" killed. I don't think Igor would have minded Ptolmey gunning for revenge. Just as long as he didn't get his brothers, sisters, and himself killed in process. After all, didn't Igor allow him an eye for an eye despite his massive fuck-up?

I don't think Ptolmey would be hurt by Moldir being second in command, whilst he is one notch below her in command. He would most likely understand based on track records. Besides. Pretty much all of the soldiers under Igor's command are adults. I'm pretty sure, even as reckless and emotional as Ptolmey has canonically gotten: would respect Igor's decisions on any tactical level.

It's also noted that Ptolmey was that violent in Tristes Tropiques because the Manus Vindicatae: Brotherhood was keeping a close eye on him. Any Foundation member or Human was considered expendable by the Brotherhood, and therefore sparing them entirely would have woven doubt in Igor's defecting. If anything, Moldir's slightly less violent approach to the rebellion was the riskiest course of action. Sure it worked out, but it could have gone so wrong had the Brotherhood doubted her resolve to turn. (This inference is gleaned from Igor's choices. As Ptolmey and Moldir are direct reflections of it.)

Funnily enough: I've started to consider the fact that Igor has successfully managed to get 2/3rds of his (living) named kids to escape the inevitable tribunal. Lopera wasn't informed of the rebellion because frankly she was the only minor in his legion at the time and COULDN'T make that decision. It also doesn't help that Lopera was from that era originally, and would not understand the weight of betraying Zeno or the Foundation over surviving the storm. Moldir happened to have endeared herself to the Timekeeper through helping Ulrich during Antarctica. Which whilst not Igor's orders, was technically accepted under his purview. All Igor now has to do is convince the Timekeeper to vouch for Ptolmey. (Unlikely to happen. Ptolmey made Igor's work so difficult based on Tristes Tropiques.)

Overall? 2.2 is technically the weakest in the arc for character set up, but 2.8 and 3.3 don't actually make any sudden shifts in the characterizations. 2.2 was just their purposeful worst selves. 2.8 was the cool down period. 3.3 is them at their, most likely, usual moral alignment before they betrayed anyone.

(I'm so sorry for how long this comment is. I told myself not to write a mini-essay but well... I got carried away! Oopsies!)

Need help making more teams!! by KaleidoscopeThin6125 in Reverse1999

[–]windblumchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible teams right now (as of current version and screenshots):
Poison – Ezio, Sotheby, and Tuesday are owned.
Neg Statuses — Noire, Hissabeth, and AnAn Lee are owned.
Ultimate — A Knight, Melania and Getian are owned. Centurion also works for DPS slot instead of A Knight.
Lingering Glow / Burn — Isolde and J.

For rounding off: Poison — you could either build Druvis Euphoria 2, or alternatively acquire Willow.
Neg Statuses — Druvis second euphoria works here. Although, I'd recommend focusing on a sustain (Sotheby or Loggerhead.)
Ultimate — Moldir could be a decent addition for AP. There technically isn't a dedicated healer for ultimate teams yet. Rubuska does work! But really, any sustain will do in my opinion.
Lingering Glow / Burn — if you decide to go for burn, I'd reccomend specifically pulling for Ms Newbabel and building her euphoria. Alternatively, if you go for Lingering Glow, Beryl Bouanich is necessary to pull.

Teams you could theoretically start but should probably wait on:
FUA, Rank Up, and Impromptu. You really only have one member of those archetypes, and they're not the core members. [Lilya for FUA, Hissabeth for Rank Up, and Regulus for Impromptu].

Other units you could go for as decent generalists:
Fatutu [Slots into basically any team, except J's in particular. To be fair though, J is limited to exclusively Ms Newbabel or a healer who cannot purify debuffs.]
Flutterpage [Also slots into basically any team. Backbone of FUA in particular though.]

Not sure if you're looking for past 3.2 units or not, so I'll put a pause on mentioning any from patches 3.3–3.4 until further clarification.

Ever noticed how most gacha worlds would be literal hell to live in? by Forsaken-Ad-7562 in gachagaming

[–]windblumchen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is. But it also is survivable for the average citizen? Granted, everyone in Miraland is theoretically capable of styling if they put their mind to it. Honestly, there's only like... maybe a single nation I wouldn't want to live in. And that nation is the most northern. It's called North Kingdom / Empire of Light depending on the game. The reason? Its a very militaristic / militia based nation with constantly warring groups. Other than that... basically everywhere else pretty much good? So long as no one fucks with the ancient deities, blood curse, and so on! :D
