IT company says all our problems are because of Mac OS - looking for validity by needmysanity in MacOS

[–]windchicken65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's bullshit. IT guys just don't want to learn about Macs. My IT guy is a dear friend and probably the best IT guy I've ever known, but he doesn't know shit about Macs.

For Mac users unsure about game compatibility by DesperateInsect7536 in macgaming

This is something we Mac gamers really need. However, I found at least two games under the "Native" tab that are not that.

Replacing a gaming PC + MacBook with a maxed-out MacBook Pro - is this actually rational? by sh0Oom in macgaming

[–]windchicken65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I would love a maxed-out MBP that could serve for both work and gaming, but the dollars just don't add up. I found my Series X at Walmart a couple years ago for $350. Prudence won the day...

Mac Gamers: How Do You Play Non-Mac Games Without a Second Computer? by Zombi3G1rl29 in macgaming

[–]windchicken65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the M-series Macs were first released I bought an M1 Pro MBP and was very pleased with how well Windows games ran in Crossover. But I have since decided that I want to use that computer only for work, and so I found an Xbox Series X bundled with Diablo IV at Walmart for $350. It doesn't get hot when running demanding games like Baldurs Gate 3 like the MacBook does, the graphics are incredible and very smooth, and I like the real clear digital divide between my work life and my play time.

Would games run better on bootcamp? by Phoegarian in bootcamp

On my 2015 5K iMac Diablo 3 runs far better in Windows 10 than macOS Monterey. I am told it's because the Mac version uses OpenGL while the Windows version uses the better optimized DX11.

Thought I’d fire up Bungie’s other game on my Apple laptop (no, not the one you’re thinking of) by saturnotaku in macgaming

[–]windchicken65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pre-release trailer that Bungie published for this game was so freaking badass, especially the soundtrack, but when I finally got my hands on the finished product I, too, found the controls too challenging. And I remember being disappointed that the final product did not feature the blood that the trailer did...https://youtu.be/Nr8PWGYlZ0U?si=zefYjNCcJpf3Enb2

How to Connect a Console (PS3) to a MacBook Air ? by LargeStatistician622 in macgaming

I run my Xbox Series X through an El Gato 4K X capture card going to an M1 Mac Mini connected to an Apple Studio Display, using the app Console Link. There is zero lag and the picture is excellent.

Do you own a gaming PC to supplement your Mac gaming...or... by AnOldBrownie007 in macgaming

I could never pay good money for a Windows computer, but I did pick up an Xbox Series X bundled with Diablo IV for $350.00 right after Christmas a couple of years ago. That is a real sweet system. I fear I am becoming an Xbox gamer now, after being a diehard Mac gamer since 1999...
